Greetings;

I fell the need to vent my absolute frustration with the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, it is a complete mess, it has one if not the worst state at launch on any game that comes to my memory. Bugs and glitches everywhere, poor performance for anything that isn't top tier PC, the GOG Galaxy app is a cancer that won't be installed on my PC ever again, it just crashes over and over again doing the updates for the game, the save sync gave an error every single time.

I paid for the Collector's edition on Xbox and the GOG version for the PC, plus artbooks and stuff, I did put a lot of money trusting blindly in my absolute favourite game developer, I have a lot of games on GOG, a lot, just because, just to pay for them on PC, specifically on GOG, that I play on other platforms, including all The Witcher games, and as of right now I'm done with CDPR, I'm sorry, but I lost all my respect for the company.

Like I said Cyberpunk 2077 is a complete mess, apart from the updates issues this game isn't ready at all, but the absolute crime is the console versions, they are an absolute atrocity, and I tried it on One X, in my PC when it run, it did decently with a lot of sacrifices, but the bugs are just constant, everything they said about them not being there more that just the usual stuff for an open world, was a complete lie. But the console, damn, it just doesn't run well at all, and I saw the base consoles, those version running at 15 fps at many points with worst visuals that 5 year old games shouldn't have been greenlit ever, and the Pro/X versions just manage to look ok, but they don's run well enough, nearly enough.

The game is as of right now a complete disaster, and the thought that at some point in the development they actually thought on launching this on April 2020, is outrageous. This game was clearly a 2021 launch for only next gen, they should have keep their promise "When its ready" above anything else, and for the people that were promised a version for their console, would have been better with an apology for not launching the game on that platform even when they said it would than charging them for this product.

I'm honestly disappointed and heart broken, I personally wish for the team the best, but they lost my respect. The console versions can´t be drastically fixed no matter how much they work on patches, if they do, it will be a miracle.

CDPR, goodbye.

I think it's pretty clear most of the budget went to celebrities, music licensing and marketting.

Yea you can vent on the Cyberpunk forum, or the bigwigs of CD Project themselves.

I would have thought on hookers and blow, but this year they saved half of that budget... ;-)

Never blindly trust ANY company so that one is on you, mate. The state the game is in is pretty bad but will be fixed eventually. Patience is a virtue and all of that. Smoke 'em if you got 'em is all I can say. Enjoy it for what it is and then enjoy it a few years from now in a GOTY Edition with all bugs fixed. That's the way to go.

^ Totally this. Years ago I decided to no longer pre-order anything anymore from anyone and I stuck to that. Even for "must have" hyped games. Even from developers I like and trust. As every single AAA release ticks by, I am not disappointed by my decision.

And what a choice. We got TV's The Matrix's The One; who was easily the least interesting part of the film?

The musical licence which could jeopardize the game in the future and from what I've heard, is meh at best which could have better been used on asking Demoscene musicians to climb out of retirement. Something like... *checks featured tracker tune on Modarchive...* MEL -Mechanical Love Song would have fit perfectly!

Edit: And there was probably a fair sink in money from Windows 7 support.

Or the very long time it has taken to develop this game. During the years of development new graphics cards, processors, motherboards became available and some of the consoles then current are now outdated. Along come PS 5 and XBOX X and they started working on ports for those. So we have a constellation of consoles and PC and no one platform has been optimized to run it even with low specs or what's still most common in terms of hardware. It shows that they didn't do much for consoles at all, X has some graphics settings and a performance mode, PS5 has performance mode and no graphics settings, the old XBOX and PS 4 the game looks terrible, and on PC it is sheer luck or so it seems.

In the last stages they must have thought okay let us target 2080 and 3080 since hey if someone wants to play it Ryzon/Intel 10th generation, AMD/NVIDIA latest generation graphic card, and consoles PS5/XBOX One, that's the way to go. Go out buy the latest and it will probably run as CDPR indented it to.

Customers complaining that it doesn't run on their system even though they meet whatever spec, those expecting it should run reasonable well yet it doesn't, of course they are right. It should when other games do run on their system yet Cyberpunk don't.

So either CDPR starts working on the platforms and within limitations taking into account that not everyone is so stupid to pay 1 grand and more just to be able to play that game, they had better start optimize it for hardware combinations most current during the past 4/5 years they seemingly abandoned during the later stages. At least this is what I think were the major contributing factors leading up to what can be called a disastrous launch.

Whether they can fix that remains to be seen.
really dont understand you guys. the stuff about playing day1 has been adressed already, but my experience from the game is quite good. i get the odd graphics glitch here and there, but apart from that it is quite stable, and i am playing medium on an almost 5 year old mid-tier GPU. and i already sunk 13 hours into it, on the release version that is without the patch 1.04. maybe i am just lucky, who knows. cannot speak for console versions tbh.
I wouldnt say outrsgeous, every new released game now a days is like this, thats why most dont even release the game, they just say early access.

I suppose look at it this way, nms is finally a super good game, on release it barely worked, and even as much as last year even a top end computer had issues with vr.

So they could of just waited till now to releasw the game i suppose, but that would of sucked for every one inculding them. haha as my friend tells me when i whine about a game, go make your own ;)

haha ypu guys are getting me intrested in this game. I am temptrd to buy it just to see if it works. I have no intrest in the game it self, i thought it sounded boring. No vr, No procdual generated worlds, I didnt see anything about moding, just a story line grindr, but all the problems and drama it causes spunds fun :)

This game needed at least TWO more years in development. One year to fix the MASSIVE amount of bugs and one more to fix bad traffic AI, loot system, NPC reactions, teleporting police... Maybe add another year for all the cut features.

If this was any other developer, the backlash would have been catastrophic.

Yeah, that's an good description of the actual state of things not only with CP2077 but with a lot of AAA releases in this day and age. If I were CD Projekt Red, I would have taken a good look at the state of the game as it stands and, with a little self irony, would have released it as a "in development" title at least until the first 6 months of patches came out :).
