DebbieL: Looking good so far! And I actually quite like the trailer; I love the fact that it basically says "yeah, you'll be save-scumming and reloading a lot. Deal with it." :D

However it looks like they've got rid of some of the team members from the original: Sam looks to have been replaced by a female character, while the Sanchez character is now called 'Hector'. Sadness.
Thats improvement, its like people always crying about the fact more women should be in the councils, more female senator, judges, more females in parliament and the beat goes on .... even in games they always play the damsel in distress :D .....

Personally its tiresome to read and listen to all that nagging and whining women should have equal rights like men have, cause they already have it, they are equal to men but with the physical jobs like construction there are few of them, not refering to engineer and office stuff like that :D , no the heavvy duty work, lifting and digging :D there are only a few.

Anyway women only want the easy jobs .... if they want 50-50 , jobs like coalmining and lifting bags of cement, will be part of it : afterall its 50-50 they ask for :D

i noticed many of the games with engine similar like that use weird effects: look at that 'shockwave' like animation
maybe its because of my sensitive eyes but i experience that effect as annoying , and there are lots of it ..

Lucumo: It's definitely uselessly overstyled. Luckily, I'm not interested at all, despite liking Desperados back in the day.
Ah good to read at least one gamer agrees with me , i also think its overstyled, and just because we have the technology to apply the new effects and technique doesnt mean we have to convert every good old game.

I know many games use a character that looks like its a 3d render but that is not as bad as it seems, the problem is the way they use it: nighlong has pretty ugly 3d characters yet the game is playable for me in a way cause it doesnt rotate nor zoom in out, its straight forward .

Ooh! Very nice, and I love seeing some indoor locations! Fingers crossed that every structure will be explorable, ala commandos 2
I would prefer to see Cold Zero: The Last Stand (also knows as Cold Zero: No Mercy) on Gog .
Awesome. I haven't played Blades of Shogun as the setting is a serious turn-off for me, but a new Desperados game will be most welcome. Of course, a sequel to Robin Hood: Legend of Sherwood or Star Trek Away Team would be even better. Or, you know, that Sherlock Holmes thing I came up a few years back :D

Or your Hobbit idea ;) Personally I just want another Commandos game, a proper one. I'd even be fine with a remake/re-imagining of the first game and it's expansion in a new engine.

Depends on how patient Kalypso is.
If they're smart they'll wait until Mimimi is finished with Desperados, and then commission them to do the new Commandos.

Last I heard there already might be a new Commandos in the works though. If true one can only hope Kalypso has given the IP into competent hands and we're not looking at another Jagged Alliance: Rage-like situation.

And even apart from that, what function does it fulfill? The different colored cones seem to be still there, so why the shockwaves?

My guess about shockwaves and other 'redundant extras 'is the fact they might want to show off and show how great they are by telling:

" Because we can and we want to show off as many ( unneeded) effects just to show how good we are at the development team" and because nowadays systems are so f... powerfull we can do anything. "

I gues thats what they really think , ofcourse they will wrap it up differently with carefull choosen correct words to show they are serious, all sales talk.

No buy for me not even if/when i have a new machine ( probably i3 -8100) i don't like developers 'pushing' thats what they all basically do, but they always wrap it up nicely so anyone buys their talk and blindly agrees.

Its like politicians when they say A but deep inside they meant B , maybe a very select group of politicians might actually do as they say and maybe US has some, we have some aswell but they are too small to put in any weight.
Anyway i am sure many smaller game companies might still be honest, its usally the big ones that tell fairytales.

Btw their name sounds a lot like Minime which sounds more funny.

If you do and land the gig make sure to point out the ridiculousness of people walking into the huge bear trap (one of the controllable character's abilities) without noticing it.
This has been brought up numerous times now (on the Codex, on the official subreddit, ...) but Mimimi doesn't seem to care.
Desperados III - Isabelle Moreau Reveal Trailer
She's gonna do bad things... Meet Isabelle Moreau.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Isabelle has mastered the occult techniques of Voodoo. She is able to slip into the mind of her enemies and control their actions. Also she can establish a dark bond between two foes, that let them share the same fate - so if one throat gets sliced, the other one will also bleed out. But these powers come with a price for Isabelle, a blood sacrifice she has to offer whenever she decides to use her powers. She cannot use just any blood for this, as it has to be her very own.

Desperados isn't the kind of game I generally play, but I picked up Shadow Tactics on PS4 for $5 (sometimes it's good to have an interest in strategy games on console!) and it got me excited for Mimimi's upcoming Desperados III. Kinda bummed it's been pushed to 2020.
