After 7 in the last 18 years, it takes a while but typing does get better with a lot of training.

One of the reasons why you see ; all the time from me. And yes, some boards have threatened me with a ban over them.

Three elderly women sitting on a bench. Man in a trench coat walks up to them and rips off the coat, exposing himself.

The first woman, well she had a stroke!
The second woman, she had a stroke!
The third, well she couldn't have a stroke. Her arthritis was acting up.

Fairfox: why not perma lower teh prices after X amount o' tiem? i know i ts not really gogie per se buuut down to teh pubblies, buuut do they just not care enuf 'boot gogie? or is it moar widespread? seems silly to me. have less salez buuut moar sensible prices on teh whole. i aint bought much on gogies consta-salez-rotation for some tiem 'coz its same-old. as said, i find these salez prices to beeee act. prices with teh familiari-tea, so if imma passin' them up due to fatigue 'n' 'coz of mah perceived 'nu norm' i sho' as heck aint payin' higher
Back when I first came to GOG I did see a few times when a game's 'normal' price was discounted, usually after a set amount of time. The past couple of years, however, the base 'normal' prices have increased - inflation. You can see this on RWarehall's GOG pricing list. What you are also seeing is probably marketing psychology at work, they increase the price then can quote a % off sale which looks like a greater % off, but the bottom line price is not. Like the lootboxes (hats/stars/pinatas), this draws in more of the spur of the moment buyers, gambler types and buyers who have to feel they got a real steal of a deal. (Some people actually get university degrees based on 'gaming' or 'farming' these types.) This does seem to happen more in a tight or frugal economy - businesses run more sales to convince people to part with their money. You just happen to be one of the ones who see through this. :)

You are also right in that we who are common GOGgers tend to get used to the sales prices as our 'new normal'. This becomes a loop with us not buying until a sale hits our sweet spot and GOG (probably pushed by publishers to show sale numbers) running more sales not just to get regular GOGgers to buy, but more to attract new sign-ups to show better numbers (buyers signed up on GOG) to get more publishers interested in bringing their games to GOG.

TLDR: You are right and I understand your mounting frustration. However, it is probably based on market psychology and business numbers to show publishers. I doubt it will change anytime soon.

Yes, quite probably. As stated in another thread, this change in Fairfox's posts happened a couple years ago. It took a bit, but I noticed Fairfox's language gets more clear when asking a more serious question or really trying to communicate a more serious thought than just a comment. Having had a grandparent which had a stroke, I can understand the sheer amount of time and concentrated focus it can take and the frustration of trying to communicate. The thought process is still clear, but the physical act of communicating that thought has been blocked/scrambled/rerouted. The only way to improve, however, is thru practice. Maybe we can have some empathy and imagine how hard this could be if it happens to us. If we don't want to deal with it, perhaps just skip Fairfox's posts.

It's your body's defense mechanism. It blinds you from reading anymore of this bullshit.
