GilesHabibula: I'm still waiting for "The Suffering 3"

idbeholdME: I'm not, after how massive of a downgrade 2 was compared to 1.
I haven't played the second one yet, but I adored the first game. Proper PC port too!

What was it you disliked about the second one? I'm gonna guess it was the change in setting, because that prison island and its various environments was tough to beat.

SENSHOCK: I never said they were the same. I said "you don't have to apply numbers & stats for something to be logical"
It's called common sense. You disagreed but you're still wrong.
Common sense is the practical application of "logic" in everyday life.

Flath Earthers appel to common sense as evidence for the earth being flat. *shrug*

Nuv3: link to... stuff
I'm honestly not sure if this is supposed to be an elaborate spoof or not, but given how by the end it devolves into sheer anti-semitism and invoking the “Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion” of all things, you might want to remove the link as I'm pretty sure it violates the forum rules.

Edited to remove link from quote.

No, it is not a spoof, it is by Eric Dubay, who is one of the flat earth guru's. And yes, he is not only a flath earther, but also a full blown nazi.

edit - when you look into flath earth, it is supprisng how many of them are "nazi adjacent'. Because it is all a conspiracy, and when there is a conspiracy there must be someone behind it, and you know....

Wernher von Braun would be so disappointed...
I'm happy this is here. The soundtrack being here is cool too, though it's a bit funny that it's more expensive than the game when on sale. But it took the publisher nine flippin' years to remember GOG exists!? Good gravy.

Better later than never!

Shame the OST is in MP3 form. Certainly won't beat my limited 4x LP vinyl + 2x CD OST set I bought from Laced Records back when the game launched :D

Pretty much everything. The setting, story, atmosphere and it's much more obviously a console game too. The gameplay just feels floatier, less impactful etc.
After completing this game, I'm giving it 7.5/10. I now understand why I disliked the game when I first tried it - stating weapons and half of the weapon upgrades are really bad, not to mention upgrade system being pain in the ass. All in all, solid FPS, with aesthetics being its strongest point.
Yeah, most of the upgrades are super boring and lame, like a faster reload? less cooldown? I've seen shoehorned perk trees with more exciting stuff than that lol

As usual, the best way to defend the globe lie is to change subject.

You do realize this wasn’t a flat Earth discussion, right? I only mentioned the absurdity of Flat Earthers appealing to common sense as evidence for their beliefs to highlight that common sense isn’t always a reliable path to truth

edit - And i am not going to respond to any more flerf nonsense. This is a store selling games, and not the corrrect place for it.

Thank you, that was honestly a fascinating read.

The thing about so-called "common sense" is that there is no such thing since it largely is a social construct. Not going too off into the reservoir here (!) but many things just doesn't add up regardless how much someone uses "common sense" as an excuse.

This reminds me a little of Plato's allegory of the cave...

EDIT: Just wanted to say this is a fantastic game, guys! RipnTear those shadows... I mean Demons!

Got me this game now...
My honest opinion: This game was 40 times cheaper than Stalker 2 but it is better than that. Clearly a masterwork in its category... those who dont get it are no true gamers, finish story.

No clue about the multiplayer because obviously not on GOG but if it is not a private server or privately hosted it is no good preservation because the list of official severs that has been shut down is way longer than i dare to spell out. Perhaps Steam is offering it for free... just zero clue about.

Regarding graphics: If in full settings using Vulkan it still is a serious punch, even by modern standards.
