Fallout 4 was released 4 years after Skyrim, we just got the latter, so it'll be here in 4 years :p
I hope it does. In spite of the grief people gave it, it's still one of my favorite games of all time and it was the first time that I played a game where the story truly hit me hard, emotionally. I already have it on Steam but I'd love to see it come to GOG with an anniversary edition-style upgrade to include all Creation Club content. I'll 100% buy it day one if I have the money to do so.

paladin181: Bethesda doesn't really have an RPG masterpiece to their name.
Have you never played Morrowind?

I have and I thought Daggerfall was better. Neither was much of a masterpiece though. Buggy mess versus ugly visual mess. And Cliff Racers.

StingingVelvet: It's a game lots of people play a lot of and then pretend they hate. It's a solid game.

paladin181: It's a solid game. Absolutely. But I just didn't enjoy it that much. The leveling system, the dialog system... the world and base building... it just didn't feel good to me after playing New Vegas. It's a solid game. Poop is also solid. Solid isn't a compliment. But it's not a terrible game. It's just not very good.
because this is off course not subjective.... According to my Steam stats, I have spent overr 200 hours with Fallout 4, I quite enjoyed it. I liked NV as well, but I have now played F4 longer then NV.

Hours played says nothing about the quality of the game. Some of the best games ever per playthrough have varied in length.

Deus Ex 1: GOTY was fantastic and I think the best game ever - yet, it was never in 200 hours per playthrough ballpark. More like 30-40 per playthrough.

Same can be said about say Vampire: Bloodlines - and per playthrough, it's in the 20-30 hours ballpark. Same for Mass Effect 2, not including DLC's.

Then...there's monsters like DAO Ultimate, which I've spent over 150 hours with and loved.

I like Fallout 4 and think it's very good, despite lack of choice/consequence in base-game - but combat's a lot better. Though, to me, Far Harbor DLC is the best content in the game and I loved that; that certainly wasn't super-long either. Though, Far Harbor did a lot better overall w/ choice/consequence for what's there.

I'll take FO: NV Ultimate over FO4 GOTY any day. Better writing, characters, story, choice/consequence, and more. Just a fabulous RPG/shooter hybrid - more emphasis on the RPG here. I probably got over 100+ hours in that on one run through also - all DLC's included.

Oh, and Resident Evil 4 UHD is amazing and RE2 Remake - and those certainly ain't even 30 hours.

if i don't like a game, i stop playing it. so if i play a game for a lenght, that means i liked it. you are taking genrally about all games, but this conversation was only in relation to Fallout 4 and New Vegas, so the rest is really irrelevant
Enough people like it so bring it here.

A reminder that it is no skin off your back if someone likes something innocuous that you happen to dislike. 'You' in the previous sentence is any reader and not a specific one. I am not getting personal against anyone here.
Since we got Skyrim after all these years, there is hope that we will eventually get Fallout 4 as well.

In spite of some of the negatively concerning Fallout 4, I still look forward to giving it a chance.

I think there's a difference between time played and average playthrough, and yes, average playthrough means nothing of the quality of the game. Hours played is, however, a strong indication of one's opinion of a game. I mean, story in Street Fighter II is less than half a hour depending on skill but I dumped hundreds of hours into that game because I love it.

I've spent around 50 hours or so w/ ME: Andromeda - and yeah, it ain't even close to say the quality of ME Trilogy/ME Legendary. It got to be too much & too repetitive, at some point for me.

Controls, combat & vehicles were great - but the trademark BioWare stuff was lacking (story, characters, writing, dialogue, lack of choice/consequence); especially when compared to ME Trilogy/Legendary.

It was alright - but disappointing; especially compared to ME Trilogy.

Never finished the main story. Too much side-questing w/ lack of choices and whatnot.

Oh, the Street Fighter & MK games are a blast though.
