Hirako__: I also don't get what is the next gen in this patch... I read the notes and there is nothing next gen unless the different performance modes for consoles are considered next gen? But for PC players I really don't see anything special.
Now for the creation content - I wonder for these items that were added with patch. GOG says they are not coming but from what I read in the patch notes aren't the items added inside the game as normal items that you get from missions and not from the online creation club part? I think GOG staff should check this while there is time. If anyone owns the game on Steam can actually help greatly here. But from what I read I think all the items are added in the game by doing the quests mentioned in the patch notes which means this patch should be very much safe to be added fully on GOG too!!!
In regards to the Creation Club content I have the Steam version, and I've both tried the update out and have checked out the game's Data folder.
It's basically the same deal as the content that was included with Skyrim: Anniversary Edition. The Creation Club content is included as part of the update on Steam, you get the .esl plugin files that contain the quest and item data, and the .ba2 archive files that contain the assets as part of the Steam download. You don't need to connect to the Creation Club service or even have a Bethesda.net account to download the content, or to use it.
I'm personally confused as to why GOG thinks removing it is necessary.
