JMich: Really? After all these games, you still believe that? No reason for a mass claim ever?
There are such reasons. Question is always what can be gained by a mass claim, versus what will be revealed.
If we were down to the end and it was do or die for town I can see the possible need for a mass claim, but otherwise no I can't really ever see a need for it. There are such reasons. Question is always what can be gained by a mass claim, versus what will be revealed.

On an unrelated note, I was incorrect when I said JMich was killed by my bomb in the Grand Oaks Gallow's game. JMich was killed by yogsloth and Flub was protected by a bomb shelter. My apologies to the mod.

Ah...!
Where have I heard this before...
As I said, I don't have any experience with mass claiming, so I could be wrong, but I do think that at this point, in this game, this is not the right time.
@trentonlf, am I to assume that you won't answer my last question to you?

The most appealing part for me is the journey. Sure, it's nice to win, but I don't mind losing, that's the nature of the game. As I said, I don't have any experience with mass claiming, so I could be wrong, but I do think that at this point, in this game, this is not the right time.

You seem totally convinced yogsloth is town, for good or ill reasons. I am not 100% convinced. So, it was obvious, and predictable, for you go after me for pointing out a valid hole in yogsloth's statement. It is interesting that you accuse me of grasping at straws for doing so, however, thus attempting to paint my question in a bad light.

Oops, missed this one on the new page.
I don't know, why don't you tell me?
I have been in one game where a game-breaking strategy was employed. It was the 'Assassin in the Palace' game, and I was actually the instigator of the game-braking strategy. The strategy was to just lynch, one by one, each player, with each person to be lynched picking the next target, until the Assassin was lynched by dumb luck. It worked, of course, but it pretty much sapped the fun out of the game for everyone involved. So, I have decided I just don't like to employ such strategies, even if it is obviously the best choice; game breaking strategies usually are, after all.

The new page, and my post, took for ever to show. Forum's acting up again.
I would if I could remember. I will if it comes to me.
Do you consider everyone claiming in the very late game to still be a game-breaking strategy?
So, if you view third-parties as scum, that means that you think that flubbucket is town, and I assume that it's not just his avatar that makes you think so. Would you share what it is that makes you believe he's town?

That sounds like a chore. Why did you decide to go that route? I have been in one game where a game-breaking strategy was employed. It was the 'Assassin in the Palace' game, and I was actually the instigator of the game-braking strategy. trentonlf: Sorry about that, I totally missed that question. There is a possibility of a neutral role in reference to flub, but I do tend to view most people as either town or scum with the neutral role going as scum.
I don't like the use of the term "neutral" for third-parties, I don't think it's accurate. So, if you view third-parties as scum, that means that you think that flubbucket is town, and I assume that it's not just his avatar that makes you think so. Would you share what it is that makes you believe he's town?

dedoporno: Yog's arguments for going after flub don't seem solid enough to vote for him on the spot at least from my point of view. On the other hand flub's absolute refusal to even consider Yog's claim in the light of what happened Yesterday seems a bit weird. A bit OMGUS-y, too.
dedoporno: This makes me think though.
I think yogs knows more about Flub (I could be wrong and it would be someone else) then we know. I think yogs has used his power on flub before the game started or the very beginning.dedoporno: This makes me think though.

It wasn't so bad. I went for it, because it was listed in the wiki as the "Pro-Town Strategy". So... since it was the 'best' way, I pushed for it. 'Best' doesn't mean 'more fun'.
When the game becomes a forgone conclusion to most, and players do it voluntarily to speed things along, then I have no problem with it.

yogsloth: No mass claim yet. Someone important is still hidden.
Would love for sage, cristi, hijack to grace us though.
I was asleep when we came back last night and I am just getting home and reading up as I type. Would love for sage, cristi, hijack to grace us though.
I vote for the first 3 spots. I am not a fan of claiming but I can see why some are for it so soon and I will go with whatever the group decides as a whole.
I am sorry work was busy today and tomorrow will be very very busy at work too. However I will be on and reading when I get off. Some people need to realize that work has to come first and only being at my job for a month I can not just get online and play around when I really wish i could.

Just checking in before I hit the sack.
When I started playing this game some 10 or so years ago there was no reveal on NK, very few roles, no lynch was still a no-no, and it was fun. There were of course those players determined to suck the fun out of everything. I didn't make an issue I just moved on. So many sites I can't even remember.
One thing has remained fairly constant, I hate to role claim. I've done it for PGO and Miller reasons as well as Masons and such.
But I will not role claim now.
You will have to lynch me and then line up to thank yogsloth.

Krypsyn: Another game... another group of people wanting a mass-claim. I hate mass-claims. I think they are a game-breaking strategy, and they ruin the fun and challenge of the game.
trentonlf: Put me in the category of no mass claiming, I truly think it's a weak strategy for town to try and use to win and it breaks the game and makes it pointless to have even started the game to begin with. There will be times where someone has to reveal a role, but there is no reason for a mass claim ever IMO.
dedoporno: As for the mass-claim I don't like it since it's a pretty cheap way to get ahead. Especially when we are already ahead which I believe we are and there is no real reason to resort to such tools. I don't know about others but I'm not playing solely to win but to have fun in the process. But if the majority decides they want to go this way I guess it can't be helped.
Krypsyn: I have been in one game where a game-breaking strategy was employed. It was the 'Assassin in the Palace' game, and I was actually the instigator of the game-braking strategy. Ok. So I get that most "active" people aren't for the massclaim since it's seen as gamebreaking and takes the fun out of the game. But everyone agrees, that it is a way for town to win. Well, it got me thinking and while really I would like to win this with town, I also want to enjoy the game (and enjoying it I do alot, thanks RWarehall for letting me play), so I won't be pushing for a massclaim anymore (and I hope the suggestion, will be put down as another newbie thing to do and won't get me lynched ;)
But while enjoying the game without breaking it we can still win this, I'm sure. There just may be more casualties and in the process more fun :D hopefully.
Still thanks for the backup. It's good for me to not feel completely stupid bringing it up... You made my day :) (oh you and alqadim that is :D
