opticq: My time is so limited now that my standards are too high. I would not be able to handle any of those 3 now due to their relatively lower graphic quality and most likely controller incompatibility.

I have no doubt I'll enjoy Fallen Order based on what I've seen in gameplay videos and after enjoying the roughly 4 hours playing part of Bureau: XCOM declassified, I'm ready to retry Republic Commando again later because they're both squad based.
I find it odd that you equate graphics to game quality. I suppose that is what led you to playing TFU. If you truly had high standards, you should go for the highly praised game, not the often condemned one. As for the controller, I couldn't say. I've never found a reason to use a gamepad over a Keyboard & mouse.

I haven't played Fallen Order yet, but hopefully it has ended the drought of good Star Wars games.
You'll probably like Republic Commando, it's pretty fun.
i just cant keep focus on any game, not quit per se, just get distracted and leave it for something new. games started, enjoyed and left idling:

Untitled Goose Game- after the novelty wears off its just enter a new scene, figure out the puzzle kind of game to advance. gets old, repetitive, wonky controls

Project Zomboid: new build release, tons of upgrades and new combat but still much the same game which i have played to death, pun not intended

Pillars of Eternity 2- lovely game with tons of backstory, so much so that i get sore playing it on my current set up and have to stop. combat is just plain confusing. im determined to play it as i love the characters, just need to make it easier on my body.

Torchlight 2- its just a fun hack and slash light, something to do when waiting, nothing to sweat about or get totally involved in or care to finish

Samarost 3- gorgeous art and music but each puzzle stops gameplay dead with lots of pixel hunting, back and forth trying to see effects from actions etc. without a walkthru i would never advance

betrayal of kondor: fantastic old dungeon crawler, which i love. however actual gameplay is difficult by todays standards, i find myself using off game resources too heavily to advance to a point where it feels like homework

all great games, I just...... lose interest. Project Z is understandable, i have crap ton of hours into it thru the yrs but the others i cant figure out. I wonder if im losing interest in gaming all together as this has been happening for awhile now.

No idea how it is for you, but for every game I finish, nine others have fallen by the wayside. It's just a matter of finding the right game at the right time. That being said, a lot of games are just too long and uninspired. Not bad, just not totally engrossing and exciting either. And if you already have a lot of experience playing games, you probably become harder to impress.

all good points, hope so, as gaming has been my favorite hobby for decades
Forager

The game ran out of steam even though I had 20k coal. In a gist, the game has had the same gameplay loop as when it was in early access as it does now, but with some added fluff atop it.

It has the feeling of a game that would have been amazing during the Indie boom of the 2000s, but came out only rather recently, which is a small problem given the vast amount of choice available to play instead.

I've posted a review that goes into further detail of the many quibbles that bring the game down.
Doom (2016).

Me quitting Doom has actually nothing really to do with the game but has to do with the fact that my desktop pc can't run it very well and my laptop can run it very well but it's on a small 15 inch screen and Doom deserve a much bigger screen than that.

So the game must wait until I get a new pc with a bigger monitor.

Or connect your laptop to your desktops monitor ?, Just a thought...
Stargunner

After many attempts, was finally barely finished the second episode on my last life. On the Ensign (Easy) difficulty. Then started the third episode on the same difficulty and after several attempts couldn't even get to the boss of the first level. Yeah, no, not for me. Too bad because the gameplay is fun and music is great.

Edit: Nevermind, tried E3M1 again, this time with a very different initial loadout that I used for the first two episodes, and it became doable!

Monster Bash

Got frustrated by the difficulty before even getting to the end of the first episode....

Yes!, seriously...
I had to quit Wasteland 2 due to bad party composition. Probably I'll try to return to the game in the future, this time picking my team more cautiously.
Half Life

It's just as bad as I remember it back when it came out. Had to try it again to make sure.

This guy is nuts. Half life is not bad in any way. Part of the problem with the industry is guys like this who suggest bad ideas to everyone including game companies.

Its sequel ushered in what is effectively a DRM monopoly that continues to cripple PC gaming to this day; I think it's safe to say Half Life games are at the very least overrated.

Scaledish: Eh, Noitia, great idea, but got too repetitive
Good to know , it looks awesome, but if it is boring then clearly doesn't worth a purchase.

What is bad with that game? Most gamers like it a lot. Maybe it is dated a little.

Rocketbirds (Vita)

Guns. Gore, & Cannoli (GOG)

Both games are 2D shooters, have great graphics and funky storylines but both suffer from aiming issues as a result of a lack of 360 degree shooting, which makes both of them difficult to play.
