== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

gamesfreak64: hi just installed the client... but theres tons of below viewing thresholds on load and loads of replies and or posts
this makes replying and giving/reading feedback impossible

i made some screenhots from seevral pages, and made a compilation of it on 1 big image, i have send the image with a question to support cause i think a setting is wrong on the forum cause laods of the posts need to be unfold ...

so until this is fixed i cant reply cause all will be folded anyways
so i will experiment with galaxy abit for now.
Yeah the forum is a bit buggy at the moment. But you can at least get rid of this threshold notice if you go to the settings ("My Settings" at the right upper corner of the forum) and uncheck the "Hide low rep post" box.

voorhees1979: Having a problem installing Witcher 2 via galaxy. It downloads all the files just fine, it then says moving 0.0% then gives me the error shown in the attachment. The drive it is installing to has over 100gb free and I have also tried launching Galaxy in admin mode, specs:

Win 8.1
i5 2500k@4.6ghz
8 gb ram
gtx 980
Have you ran the galaxy client as Admin?
thanks for the tip.... btw you are hidden aswell with this answer :D
i am typing from withing the client now, it looks like some google stuff has been used i see an ugly gold rectangle arount the active input field ( brrrr)

When i use several fora i never use chrome because of the irritating fat borders around an active button or inputfield
i stick with FF cause that browser doesnt give me those highlighted boxes.

The gog reply on theg website has a dark gray outlinecolor around the box , i like that better, as far as me the gold border can be moved, its to much ugly, some colors should be avoided or forbidden to be used when designing an interface, one of these are gold colors, iewww...

besides you can see by the blinking cursor in which part the typing can be done so the gold border can be removed.
Very buggy on OS X!! Galaxy installed games inside games and blows up the *.app sometimes. This software is not ready for a beta yet, I think!

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, yeah I have tried that, I seem to be getting server errors now when trying to verify the files.
The Galaxy beta application has nice layout and everything is easy to read and navigate. I like it. Too bad I can't install any games, but I guess I'll sort it out, or you will.

Hi everyone,

Super sad right now that I can't test GOG Galaxy because of

"reinstalling Galaxy (Windows) to a different folder than the initial install will cause an error "

:(

Any idea when this will be fixed?

Thank you,
Ian

Only GOG knows I guess .
But just to be sure , you are aware that you can set game download and game install folders differently from where Galaxy client is installed ???
So issue ought maybe not be that big of a deal ?
Personally I just let the Galaxy client install to where it wanted and then in settings set game download folder and game install folder manually to where I had it before with the rather old alpha version I used to have !
Please notice that if you install Galaxy client on top of an old alpha then the alpha might not be able to auto-update , so in case just go to your GOG games library and select to re-download the Galaxy client and manually install and then set game download and install folder paths manually to where you want them...
Hi, I just tried importing my games and only one seems to import.

I keep all my games as a collection in a games folder inside my applications folder. Inside the games folder are all my games that self run (Basically anything thats not from steam) and any collectiosn of games such as Ultima and Seirra collections, I keep togeather in folders of there own.

I'm hoping I can get some info on a way to import the rest of my games. Also that this information can help on improving it, if the way games are sorted togeather are causing the issue.

(edit)
I also tried scanning one of the folders that have a collection of games I get from gog and it says there are no games found in the folder.

(Probably uneeded info but heres what I'm using)
Using a late 2009 iMac
3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
12 GB DDR3
Nvidia Geforce 9400 256 MB

Hey,

Can't report on mantis at the minute with my logs as I uninstalled GOG Galaxy from my C drive to see how it runs on my secondary D drive however have lost my game library (All the Free Games, my games and the GOG Galaxy Client). My library just shows 0 items with nothing hidden. Is this a common problem at the minute, is it worth putting on mantis even though I have no logs?
I've read some things across the general discussion forum today that lead me to speculate that some people are seeing the forums as they have been for quite a long time, and other people are seeing a completely different incarnation of the forums in which posts can be hidden or other stuff. For example I've heard at least 3 or 4 people indicate today things like "why is everything being downrated" in forums where nothing is downrated that I can see.

Rampant speculation: GOG has developed either brand new forum handling code, or they have updated the existing code and we'll be getting a full scale rollout of it soon once the worst kinks are ironed out, but in the mean time they're able to roll it out to small groups of people or individuals bit by bit. Either way, I get the feeling we're going to have some more new bits to test with new functionality soon however hopefully the people guinea pig testing it now help get the worst issues ironed out first before we all see it. hehe

</end of rampant speculation>

I don't think that you can add non-GOG games at the moment .

Anyway here is what they write in blue on the top of this forum thread page about importing games :

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the "+" button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.
Please be aware that Client will accept any folder pointed to and will overwrite files inside it (this can for example wipe some mods or damage other apps in case of pointing to a wrong folder) and will update the game to the newest version (current default language English).
