1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

Geralt_of_Rivia: Galaxy doesn't re-download the whole game when you change the language. It only downloads the files that are different in the language of your choice.
avatar
Lebostein: No. You are not right! After changing the language, GOG redownload the COMPLETE game in a new subfolder. Result: After changing the language, I have the english AND the german version on my harddisk. The app needs now the double space on the harddisk (I have a Mac)
That shouldn't have happened. You should file a bug report on Mantis.
Is compression still a planned feature, or has this already been implemented? I ask because I see that bug reports about it have been closed (see http://mantis.gog.com/view.php?id=950 as an example), and yet I'm still seeing this issue months later:
http://i.imgur.com/2JzOYp5.png

I don't want to open another report if it's a known issue that's still being worked on.
Hi guys. I'm just wondering which games that supports achievements at the moment (if any). Just want to check if any of my games work with it now. :)
I've downloaded The Witcher 1 using gog.com.downloader and gog galaxy can't detect it. Please advise and A BIG THANK YOU! YOU'RE AWESOME! IT'S THE HYPE!

Darkenmal: For some reason games on Galaxy are only downloading at 0.2 mb/s. Is there anyway to fix this?
avatar
skeletonbow: Wow, 0.2 millibits per second is mega slow! That's slower than the communication link to the Pioneer space probe even I think!

The problem could be on the client side (a bug), or it could be on the server side due to massive overloading of the servers over the last few days from the big rollout of the beta and other things happening. Try exiting the client completely from the taskbar and starting it up and trying again to see if that helps at all. If not, might want to wait until later in the day perhaps and try again but if the problems persist I'd recommend filing a bug report in Mantis. Hope this helps.

dix_ponga: 2) Is it me, or are Galaxy's downloads making my Internet connection a little slower? I experienced some kind of lag and slow connections while Galaxy is downloading a game. Is it right? Is it just a BETA problem, or GOLD version would remain the same?
avatar
Destro: Isn't Galaxy by any chance hitting the maximum speed of your internet connection by any chance? There will be a speed cap option added later on, for now if you experience such slowdowns I'd suggest opening app settings and decreasing "number of download threads"
I've been getting extremely slow speeds of 0.1 and 0.2 Mb/s the last couple of weeks. The client is set at 6 simultaneous connections by default (I believe), and minimizing it to 2 connections increased my download speed to 1.6 Mb/s. Dropping it down to 1 connection increased my speed to 2.0Mb/s, which isn't optimum but is at least tolerable. For those of you who are experiencing slow download speeds, I'd recommend trying this first. [EDIT: Ironically, my current download has come to a dead stop. Heh.]

S4MUR4I: I've downloaded The Witcher 1 using gog.com.downloader and gog galaxy can't detect it. Please advise and A BIG THANK YOU! YOU'RE AWESOME! IT'S THE HYPE!
Are your install directories set the same between both clients? EDIT after looking at your screen cap: Galaxy (by default) installs to a directory called GalaxyClient. You can change that in the settings.

I don't think it's worth it to post on mantis, but friends list dropdown menu is broken. Either on regular and embed site.

Ack, broken here, too.
I think that there must be pause button when downloading, and setting max download bandwith would be useful. When you abort download, the client should ask if you sure, as I've already clicked it by accident.

Also there is serious bug, when you close the client (or it crashes as in my case), after you reopen it, it tries to continue downloading, but there's a catch. You have to get another 25GB (Witcher 2) space on your disk, or it won't start, even though it already allocated the space for a game. So if you want to download it with closing the client, you must have 50GB space on your disk.

Does the friend options actually works? I don't see the accept button.
We definitely need a way to manually add users to our friends list
Hey I've got my Galaxy Client and all current games installed on my D drive (HDD) but want to install TW3 onto my C drive (SSD), is there anyway to do this through Galaxy without moving everything else onto the C drive (SSD)? Thanks!

EDIT: I figured it out by manually selecting where each folder would download (into the D drive) and then install (into the C drive) in the settings. I'm hoping that after I've installed TW3 I can change the install folder back to my D drive and everything will work, I'll let you know what happens.

can we install games in other language different from english?
O.K., I am now finally out. Support just told me that Galaxy does not support Windows XP and so they disregarded my bug report. I've tested for hours, destroyed some of my installations and wrote a bug report to get THAT reply? Hell, even Steam does support Win XP and several games still support Win XP. I hope you guys had fun with all the work you did on Galaxy but obviously you don't want me to be part of it. The optional client is so optional that you only can use it if you use a special OS - no thanks! Please kill me of your beta testing list and take the Client from my library which now also looks like shit but that is a different story. Oh boy, I was so in love with GOG but what you guys are doing at the moment - not funny at all! Bye Galaxy!

Since the new account stuff makes it more tedious to find GOG Downloader links and the downloader itself no longer seems to maintained, I tried using the Galaxy client for this (downloading offline installers and extras).

Is the client due to match the downloader's functionality of downloading only changed files? It just seems to blindly download everything even though I have the same versions of installers, etc. already in the folder I pointed it at. The downloader seems to be clever enough to check first (and it seems to check at least hashes rather than just filenames and/or timestamps).

Also, it's not clear whether the temp folder it uses is meant for downloading game files or offline installers (I keep them on different drives, so they should be separate temp download folders to avoid excessive data copying). I thought that the client might consider offline installers to be "extras", but no, it seems to use the "Download games to:" folder for them (the labelling is very confusing here).
Friends list dropdown menu is fixed now. Thank you very much!
