Will GOG Galaxy have an inventory system, like Steam? And a level up system?
I just would welcome cloud saving system.
If/when it does, I'll quit. I just hope GOG's dev team is slow enough that either the trend fades before the team gets to implementing it or my heir quits in my place.

Seriously?! Steam's level up system is just stupid. I'd rather have an option to add an unlimited number of friends than collect stupid cards just to craft a stupid badge, to level up, in order to let me add 5 more friends.

Well it is not stupid from Valve's point of view. These idiots pay for these things so why get rid of it, right?! I don't see any reason to implement it on Galaxy though unless it would attract a younger crowd. Who appear to be into this kind of thing.

Please, NO!.

But, a level up system, if it would be good, of course, not as the Steam system, pay to level up? seriously? why not a system similar to the Playstation Network or Xbox Live? Unlocked achievements or trophies and going up in level, all option is good, less than Steam system...

I kinda hope they work on some other features first, like proper patching, compressed downloads, a better sorting of the game library, better links between the library, the storepages and the game-specific forums... You know, basic client functionalities? ^^
Well, you can see some of the planned features listed in GOG Galaxy page itself. Some features in Galaxy feature wishlist are marked as "in progress" so at least those will be implemented at some point. You should also use it to add and/or vote for any feature you want you want to see implemented in Galaxy.

My guess is, after upcoming 1.1 they'll concentrate on getting the (crossplay) multiplayer and related features working as it seems lack of those are keeping some devs from using GOG.

And it earns them money.

Steam/Valve is business, just like Galaxy/GOG. It's not there to feed your freakin' ego, it is there to bring revenue. And it's not even a must.

You want GOG to growth? Just deal with it.

This!

For me there is no need for a inventory or a level up system (like Steam has) but cloud saving would be really nice.
I use Steam quite often (mainly to play TeamFortress 2), and I don't even know what the inventory and level up systems are. So, if I can use Steam without caring about them, I'm fine even if Galaxy would have them. Especially considering that currently I am not using Galaxy at all, even for downloading the standalone installers.

I'd rather avoid any kind of "metagaming", as it tends to draw the worst out of people and to degenerate in obsessions. I know of many people who stopped enjoying their games because their psyche just forced them to unlock every possible achievement and gain levels and medals; that way, videogaming becomes just another form of office work, imo.
That said, if they did that I would simply ignore it, as luckily my mind is still strong enough to not care about it! :P

Now, please pardon me when I scold this guy, but my patience ran out:

I'm pretty sure your last remark would be much more appropriate if pointed against you.
Do you really need to always be so much bitter and arrogant with your continuous and pointlessly inflammatory remarks? Learn how to behave politely and start being constructive rather than bashing everyone and everything, for a change! I'm tired of your disrespectful rants "à la tough guy wannabe", and I'm pretty sure we could all live better without them. You're obviously free to speak your mind (and many of your points might actually be valid), but please do so with a bit of decency.

+1. So long as any of this does not affect my ability to play download games via browser, and play totally offline I couldn't give a monkeys if they add in a virtual suite where you can poke each other with your achievements. But what I don't understand is, if you want this site to be like Steam, why not just use steam? Its a bit like me buying a motorbike and complaining it doesn't have 4 wheels - should have just brought a car.

Not sure what inventory is (games library?) or level up (forum rep?) but better support for mods similarly to the Workshop of Steam would be nice. And cloud saving.

Your Steam Inventory is where all your tradeable (often marketable) digital items are kept, think TF2 items, CS:GO, Dota 2, as well as your Steam Gifts.
