I have GOG Galaxy with only two games: Witcher 1 & 2.

When I launch GOG Galaxy, there's no problem. But when I asked for uninstallation of any game. GOG uses all upload bandwidth from my network connection and uninstallation seems to never end.

Are there any other user experimenting the same problem ?

Note: I don't use Galaxy and so I have no personal experience with it. However, I am a software developer, so I do know something about the general principles at play here.

Uninstalling a game should be a purely local process. At most Galaxy might decide to inform GOG that you have uninstalled the game, which is at most a few bytes of information. As such, if the Galaxy client uses up all of your upload bandwidth forever, there has to be a bug involved.

Don't you know? They only have a certain number of copies of each game to lend out. When you install a game, you fetch an available copy from their servers, and then when you uninstall the game, it is sent back and is made available for someone else.
<chuckles>
I get 15Gb of bandwidth a month,

THIS IS WHY I DON'T USE GALAXY! :P

Ohhh, that explains why preorders exist for digital games.

I'm also software developer ; software architect, tech lead and trainer to be exact. that's why I know importance to give feedback about problems and user experience ;)

From my own experience, I don't want to immediately call it a bug without level 2/3 support feedback. As some feature may (and surely) be unknown to me (for example, pushing some game data into cloud for backup).

The only thing I'm sure, it's there's a user experience feedback as software lacks a lot of feedback for user.

As I'm posting into public forum, I'm also expecting some tips from other users to find some workarounds.

Here is my summary data for the last month of Galaxy usage... I dont cloud save either so maybe thats it?

I deleted all my witcher saves (except the prepped w2 import save for w3) so i dont know there average sizes.

edit: alsmot all upload data is going to e11072.g.akamaiedge.net, which sounds scary but its totally legit, they are a web acceleration company and host loads of sites.

blotunga: Where do you live? North Korea?
Well I live in the United States, where we are currently closing off our borders, censoring the media, prosecuting anyone who criticizes the government, and passing laws to prohibit freedom to people based on their race, gender, and religion, so yeah, I guess I do live in North Korea. :P

Hmm, I usually expect nothing at all when posting into a public forum (although I always hope for the best :)).

For me uninstallation worked well when I tried last time.

Have you already contacted support?

What about uninstalling the game without Galaxy (on Windows through Programms...)?

Re-installing Galaxy maybe?

Does it happen for all games or is it specific for one game and works for another?

That might be uploading Cloud Saves. It might have some problems - I can't really tell via forum post. Please report a issue with your logs on mantis. Here are the instructions (see BUG REPORTING):
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_galaxy_official_discussion_thread/post1

If you want to try and jump over this issue, before uninstalling - you can go to MORE -> Settings for your game and disable Cloud Saves feature for this game.

You can as well uninstall your games using the game built-in, or Windows OS uninstaller.

Done !
Hi Guys, I'm new to GOG. Recently, I tried to download Witcher 1 offline installer which is 8.8GB. My monthly plan has daily limits, so I had to pause the download every day. Now the thing is it has been a week, and GOG has used 10+ GB but only 4GB has been downloaded. It has been eating up my whole data plan is there any particular reason for it? Like a background process ? I can't find where the rest of the data is going.
