So, I have been playing the Gwent beta for a while now, and even bought a few kegs just for *kicks and giggles*, but after playing the new PTR beta, I realise Im not going to be able to play or even enjoy this game any more. With the drastic redesign of both the art and the gameplay, Im just gonna delete it after the update goes live.

I have not invested tons of $$$ into the game, but is getting a refund of the kegs a possability? If not thats cool, I just thought I would ask.

The bait and switch this beta pulled really hurts. I was having a great time in the beta with the switch update :/

Thanks in advance.

Why would they refund them? You got what you paid for...

I paid for something that is going to be unusable after the next update. I would feel diffrently if my current decks (that I built by investing in kegs) were going to transfer over, but the PTR is so drastically diffrent from the current Beta that it renders the money invested in kegs useless.

Also, I see you don't have an actual answer to my question, which renders you comment as useless and the new PTR.

My answer stands. They won't refund you because you got what you paid for. The answer if you are dissatisfied is to not spend more money on the product you don't like. But you don't get a refund because you're dissatisfied with something that has changed when the game was in BETA. Maybe don't spend money on in game items in a BETA, and you won't get disappointed when they drastically change their direction.

He actually answered you:
"is getting a refund of the kegs a possability?" -> "Why would they refund them?"
That post means: most certainly not.

You're starting to learn why microtransactions and lootboxes are being hated.
Be that as it may, having people invest in a game for a year and a half, and then delevering a game so diffrent as to be almost unlinkable with the beta is disingenous.

They are taking gwent from a game with rich factions, chess like gameplay, and actually unique graphics to a andriod knockoff with watered down gameplay, bad graphics, and a UI that is... unreadable? Unuseable? Bad?

But, as I originally stated, if there is no way to get a refund, I will live. I will feel robbed, but I will live.

Glad I actually downloaded the other beta befor I made the mistake of preordering Thronbreaker though. Lession about giving this game studio my $$$ well learned I suppose.

No, I hated thoes already. Ass me about having Steam offline for the last year or so due to Beth's Creation Club constantly breaking my modded Skyrim and FO4 -_-

I actually earned a whole mess of kegs through gameplay, and was enjoying the game enough to spend a couple of bucks here and there because it was actually fun :/

Im kinda heartbroken actually. I really enjoyed this game.

Ever get drunk and try to return an empty keg?

"No sir, it was like this when you sold it to us! We want our money back!"

It works about as well as the mouse in the bottle scam. :P

Ever buy a fancy Chess set, only to have it replaced by a half of a checkers set after you bought and played it for a while?

Ever read a disclaimer on a BETA test about how it isn't representative of the final game and may change during development?

No, I wouldn't buy the test-only chess prototype. :P

Anyway, I understand you point, but that's how betas always work.. nothing is granted and everything can change.
That's why I usually just skip them and wait for the complete game.
I have played any number of betas... I was actually one of the first Beta players on ESO before it even launched... And while ESO has undergone MASSIVE changes, it still playes as the same game for the most part. (I still even beta tast for them before upgrades and DLCs, rather enjoy all that)

This mess... this is a whole new level of bait and switch :/

Im just upset because I was really, REALLY enjoying this game. Me and my son have been having a blast playing this together.

Ugh.

I am honestly sorry to hear that you can't enjoy it any longer. I don't mean to seem a prick, but ultimately, that's how the breaks go. I enjoyed my time with the ESO closed BETAs more than the final game myself.

I mean, you can't even *see the cards in your own hand anymore*

None of the factions even matter or are unique anymore... just BS.

As for ESO, I play it for the eyecandy visuals and exploring aspect. It's grand for that ;)
