Depends on the keyboard you're using and first and foremost on your dexterity as well.
Personally I can pull off the half- and quarter-circles in something like King of Fighters on a crusty old mechanical Logitech just fine and more or less consistently. Never to this day felt the need to use a controller for anything.

SpaceMadness: I'm inclined to believe there will be keyboard support, not necessarily keyboard AND mouse. Fighting game control schemes mostly use buttons. Camera control, point-and-click inputs, and other functions associated with a mouse are atypical of the genre.
You'd be able to rebind pretty much anything you want (including the most bizarre things - moving forward on RMB anyone?) to the mouse buttons regardless though. And in case rebinding is not supported - AutoHotkey is your friend.
To disable the mouse devs would have to actively block the mouse inputs from being registered ingame which I guess is technically possible but wouldn't make a lick of sense.

That looks like a game to keep an eye on but then I think back to Bushido Blade or Die by the Sword which came out about 22 years ago........

Carradice: 4 buttons for the 4 angles of attack. This game seems to be controller-oriented.
Mice are rubbish for these style of games even if you were directly controlling the sword, a trackball, touchpad or Wii remote worked a lot better.

Thanks for sharing, OP. This game looks extremely cool and hopefully it ends up on GOG!
It looks good so far. I'm interested to see what sorts of backgrounds are in the final game to match the aesthetics of the time.
