Grargar: Install the game and follow this guide.
Ah crap this is one of those complicated mods that require a bunch of things to download that I lack :P

I check GZDoom and for some reason they only offer version 1.8.02 where the pdf guide I downloaded said 1.8.10 at least.

And It also tells me I need ZDL which I have to download from Mediafire and I don't trust a torrent site.

And alot of these install guides don't mention how to do it on the GOG version they all assume you downloaded it from some freeware website.

pimpmonkey2382.313: That's his baby picture. :p
You bitch! lol

pimpmonkey2382.313: For modern games I like wasd, but for games like doom and dark forces it's really of no help.

darthspudius: and the original key board controls are? They were awful back then never mind now! Not adjusting due to nostalgia is just silly. Take the latest System Shock release for example. That game plays waaaay smoother with WASD and mouse look. But it got so many complaints because it isn't the "proper" experience.
It's not nostalgia, it's because the setup worked none the less. It's not like you're playing a modern game where precise aiming is something that is absolutely needed. You even look near the enemy and you're aimed at it.

darthspudius: lol If only if it was something that fun. Sadly im typing with one hand at the moment (tendinitis).
Do I also need Doom 2 for this mod to work because I do not have the GOG Doom 2.

Just download it and do it. The guide is a little old but it still does all the same shit. It works, iv done it plenty of times.

Elmofongo: Doom is the kind of game that NEEDs that WASD+Mouse combo.
I mean it's completely unplayable without WASD+mouse, that's why everyone hated it when it came out and it was completely forgotten about.

It's simple, really.

1. Install Doom.
2. Download GZDoom from here (either version should be fine) and extract it somewhere.
3. Grab doom.wad from your installed doom folder and put it in the same folder as GZDoom.
4. Download Brutal Doom and put it in the same folder as GZDoom.
5. Drag Brutal Doom's file over the GZDoom.exe and you're good to go.
The two bad things about the setup steam has on dark forces is that you can't choose which set up you want prior to starting the game and the 2nd is that they didn't have look up/down mapped to the mouse also, only the horizontal looking left/right, so it wasn't that much of a help anyway.

I hate the facebook because its too confusingI'm so you simplify it for me.

I donwloaded ZDL and GZDoom and the Brutal Doom mod (goddamn so many fucking things for this mod to work)

So what do I do first. do something to ZDL or GZDoom first?

Do I press the GZDoom.exe in the rar first?

Well they changed the dosbox emulator control scheme, and without warning, so I was expecting the original setup, when I got a surprise wasd setup and I was all "Wtf?" when I started the game, and had to get to dosbox's control scheme to set it back. :P I'm not saying WASD is bad at all, I just would have liked to have the choice of schemes before the game launches. :P
