Though I've generally been happy with the games I've purchased through GoG, there is one outrageous exception in the case of the so-called Enhanced Edition of Neverwinter Nights. Besides the trouble of just getting it to start, it contains some awful bugs that make the game unplayable, as you're merging with/forced into certain types of items, causing you to get permanently stuck. I've started several campaigns, only to end up completely stuck due to the bugs. I've contacted the company, but they don't react or respond and unfortunately, the Diamond version, which I also own, has its own problems. Although GoG does at least reply to feedback, it's awfully disappointing that they've allowed themselves to be used to sell a product that isn't working. Or am I mistaken? Is there some way to make NWN EE work? If anyone has ideas or tips, please let me know.

Although it's unlikely to happen, it would have been nice if GoG offered a working version of NWN to those who have been misfortunate enough to purchase the "Enhanced" Edition.

Update 24/09/21:
An update was posted yesterday and it looks like they finally got around to fixing the issue that was preventing me from proceeding in numerous campaigns. Hopefully no other game-breaking bugs have been introduced by this update. There is home hope after all, it seems.

And what's the deal with the name anyways.
Does it mean like a summer night? Personally I prefer winter nights, lot easier to add more layers if you need to and easier to sleep when it's cold, but I digest.

But gog doesn't really do much to make stuff work, they tout that on some games but it's not like every game is some work of art passed down, most old games have issues on modern systems. Most games released here have 0 attention from the developers. Even Diablo has all this acclaim about being modernized or whatever but it's not, still 20fps, still no widescreen, still has the notorious DEP issue that the average person isn't going to understand. Meanwhile a D1 mod from many years ago actually fixes all the issues with the game.

NWN-EE is another Beamdog game. Best bet is to search the sub forum to see if there is anything related to your particular issue. Unfortunately gog just dumps the entire series into one sub forum, so have fun perusing 123 pages worth of posts. Maybe there's a mod that fixes all of the issues, I'm not really familiar with NWN myself.
