Deep Silver published Egosoft's X series, one of my favourite game series of all time, which means they're ok by me AS LONG AS they don't pull a Shadowrun and put in compulsory Steam on what is supposedly a DRM-free release on both the digital and boxed release. I just upgraded my pledge from the normal boxed copy to the CE boxed copy 2 weeks ago, so yeah I would be very very sensitive to compulsory Steam issues.

Interface looks hell alot better than the original which I don't really fancy, this one's alot more sleek and attractive. The day lighting looks fantastic, 4 daylights shots so far, 2 nightime + 1 video in the evening.

Hope for a new gameplay video soon before BETA hits. According to Bro None, the game's still in Alpha-ish state. I got a feeling it will be delayed somewhat from the October release date.

Deep Silver aren't publishing anything. They are distributing the physical edition of WL2 and associated Kickstarter physical goods, that's it. The game is still developed and published by InXile, and the digital versions of the game are between InXile and Steam/GOG, nothing to do with Deep Silver.

According to Beekers on the forum, Deep Silver get a cut from the physical sales to pay for their involvement.

Yeah, I upped mine too the CE around that time. I can't wait for the Beta, I wonder when that will start. And please no online signup requirement, let me do my offline crap.

Doesn't bother me a bit. In fact, more Kickstarter projects should go this route so long as the publisher doesn't try to change the vision for the project or add DRM. This is the way publishers should be used. Developers do what they do best and publishers do what they do best. I'll still take a wait-and-see attitude for how the project wraps up, but so far, in short, I like the way Fargo/inXile is doing business.

They haven't updated the Ranger Centre database since 13th Jun 2013. Waiting for them to update so I can up the pledge reward to $100. Probably have to ask Bro None when, doubt he visits the forums here :D

My guess is they issue the Steam BETA key in the Ranger Centre so you need to login to your account to get the key at least. Much like how Larian issues their BETA keys through Larian Vault.

Update #32 looks great! The new screenshots are drastically different than the last time. I'm excited.

We're now a month behind, yes. Lotta reasons for that, mostly the guy who processes them is a programmer on Wasteland 2 and has been really busy, plus he's missed some days sick. I'm pretty hopeful we'll get to it some time this week.

It does a good job of showing the interface, but the game screenshot itself appears to have been taken at a much lower resolution, compressed, stretched to match the interface resolution, then compressed again (or maybe the game part of the screenshot is a frame from a heavily compressed video?).
The depth of field effect (odd thing to have with this game genre - hope it can be disabled) makes it even more blurry.

No worries, I'll wait for it. Programmers have it the worst, bugs, debugging and looking at code the whole day. And if the game is buggy, everyone blames them, if the game is good no one cares about congratulating them. Heh.

I'd rather you take your time, than rush out a buggy product. Any update on the when the Beta will open up?
