BrotherNone: "Pre pre pre production" is not correct. Torment has begun prototyping and in-engine work months ago, and we have working blockouts of different levels. A lot of Wasteland 2 team members have started working on Torment part-time, and soon more will join and a number will be transferred full-time, like writers and artists, as they work on Wasteland 2 wraps up. It's not literally everyone on WL2 until it's out and then everyone on Torment, we had to fund Torment early exactly because it doesn't work like that. That's not to say WL2's timing doesn't affect Torment's timeline, of course it does, but at this stage the extended pre-production or rather limited production time is not harmful for Torment, as in it won't be a worse game for it, and the stated intent of the Torment Kickstarter - keeping our team together and having enough time to do Torment's pre-production right - worked out quite well.
Anyway this is a Wasteland 2 thread. Yay Wasteland 2! All of Arizona! Will be curious to see what people think after playing the entire Arizona area.
GastonArg: the game so far is just a bunch of papers and nothing more, ideas on papers sounds good but a game needs more than that, Anyway this is a Wasteland 2 thread. Yay Wasteland 2! All of Arizona! Will be curious to see what people think after playing the entire Arizona area.
What pre in-engine work? why they didnt show us any of that so far then :/ ? the updates on torment have been very sporadic so far and they only talk about the story, dialog system etc but not actual work in the game on how it is in reality and what you are saying is that you need to found a game years before the game even start it production?
By the way they way you talk seems that you are actually working on the game, may I ask what function or place you do in the team? (plain and simply curiosity :P )
