JinseiNGC224: I can't wait for this game to come to GOG!

reaver894: It will be here when the full game is released
Oh really? I would have never guessed ;)
New Update:

I wonder when that new update goes live. I'd really like to start my umpteenth game, but I think I will wait for the new Dialog UI to go live.
This will probably be the only time you'll see me post a Gamespot link, bu they did a (surprisingly positive?) Early Access review on WL2:

I avoid Gamespot whenever I can, in fact I negate almost every review that comes out of there. Not a fan of the audience there either. But I'll give this a read.
New update:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2/posts/849972

Game is to release at end August. Same time as Risen 3, one of my most anticipated games of the year. But from what I read about Risen 3, it's likely gonna be disappointing, I hope not. If anything I got WL2 to turn to that month.

"We also just released another big update to the Wasteland 2 beta (full notes on our tumblr). This update adds the final major area of Arizona, meaning the Wasteland 2 beta now includes all Arizona maps, which is approximately half the entire game!"

Think Damonta is added. Time to give the BETA another fresh replay.
yay torment 2 will be delayed for another 5 more months :D
pre-pre-pre production still for another half a year, almost 2 fucking years of pre pre pre pre pre pre production YAY AND MORE YAY

Pretty much expected the moment they the moment Torment Kickstarter hit its funding, no? They're don't have the manpower or resources of an AAA team to divert equally for both projects to come out at the same time. Can't compromise WL2 for Torment and vice versa.
How's this one (Wasteland) shaping up? I was super excited for its impending release last year - did the extra year get everything taken care of? I worry about delays like this but I posted in the other thread (Unoffically Coming to GoG) I'm hopeful this one is okay!

not true, they never talked about delaying torment 2 for such a long period of time, brian fargo even said one time that if you prolong the pre-production of a game for too long it will start losing money.
Even if all that is not true (which sadly is true) why start a kickstarter knowing that you cant make the game or even start it? It is misleading on their part to start the founding on a project, that alone makes everyone believe that they will start the game production at one point and not 2 years after they succeed with the campaign.
A few months is one thing but being the in pre production (I call that bullshit because no project can be in pre-production for so long) now for almost 1 year and half and at this pace will be 2 years...dont you think it is a little bit too much?
EDIT: just to be clear on this one, I'm not saying that inxile wont make torment or that they are stealing the backers money, I'm just saying that it was misleading on their parts to start the project on this particular conditions knowing that wasteland 2 was far from being ready to ship, I think that wasteland 2 is looking better and better after the patches, and it will be a great game, but I dont like the attitude they took in the whole thing, I backed both projects but I dont think I will be backing any other campaign in the future if it's from inxile, I will just buy their games when the games are in the stores (or steam, gog etc) not before.

VanishedOne: I hope it can be compressed some more for the installer. 23GB is over half the monthly download quota in the house I live in.
Copy over the installer from friend's HDD I suppose?

That's what I do for my friends, even for Steam copies. I had fully patched Dota 2, my friend just smartly reformatted his PC and wiped Dota in his PC (happened....somehow), I simply took his HDD and copied over my Steamapps folder. It worked. Saved his bandwith, and he gave me a chocolate. :D

"Pre pre pre production" is not correct. Torment has begun prototyping and in-engine work months ago, and we have working blockouts of different levels. A lot of Wasteland 2 team members have started working on Torment part-time, and soon more will join and a number will be transferred full-time, like writers and artists, as they work on Wasteland 2 wraps up. It's not literally everyone on WL2 until it's out and then everyone on Torment, we had to fund Torment early exactly because it doesn't work like that. That's not to say WL2's timing doesn't affect Torment's timeline, of course it does, but at this stage the extended pre-production or rather limited production time is not harmful for Torment, as in it won't be a worse game for it, and the stated intent of the Torment Kickstarter - keeping our team together and having enough time to do Torment's pre-production right - worked out quite well.

Anyway this is a Wasteland 2 thread. Yay Wasteland 2! All of Arizona! Will be curious to see what people think after playing the entire Arizona area.

the game so far is just a bunch of papers and nothing more, ideas on papers sounds good but a game needs more than that,
What pre in-engine work? why they didnt show us any of that so far then :/ ? the updates on torment have been very sporadic so far and they only talk about the story, dialog system etc but not actual work in the game on how it is in reality and what you are saying is that you need to found a game years before the game even start it production?

By the way they way you talk seems that you are actually working on the game, may I ask what function or place you do in the team? (plain and simply curiosity :P )
