I really prefer cats, though i like all animals (including people...).

I choose cats because i grew up with 3 in my house, and i have lovely moments with them that i will always remember, even if i know that dogs (at least the natural races, not created by man) are used to be with humans since much long time than cats, and that still shows in their attitude and instincts (more independent, more 'savage')

not sure what i prefer we always had dogs and tried a cat one time which was nice too, only problem was that she did not withstand the impact with a car, so we kept it to dogs.

Not in as i won New Vegas in a previous giveaway you've made five months ago and i'm still having fun with it (haven't finished it yet, i'm not rushing it), but many thanks for another generous one! :)

As for the question, i'm primarily a bird person when talking about pets; i've grown up with lots of parrots as pets and my favourite species is the Rosella parrot, very beautiful and lovely sounding creatures, not to mention their neverending curiosity (well, that applies to all parrots anyway). I also love dogs, but unfortunately i can't stand their barking due to some serious ear damage i suffer from. Cheers!

My family didn't have pets when I was growing up, due to their dog having bitten my older brother. So I haven't spent time with furry critters. I'm afraid to touch one the wrong one and make it or the owner upset!

I am in the vegetarian camp, don't like the thought of eating animals if I can avoid it. I have no pets either except an occasional houseplant I try to keep alive.

Thanks for another great giveaway Doc. I'm a dog lover at heart having grown up with Springer Spaniel and a Rottweiler Cross which had the kindest nature. My girlfriend then got a kitten that had been abandoned on a school field. It turned out to be ferrell, he'd pounce and bite us so I had to whip him with items of clothing to stop him biting me. Numerous times my girfriend and mum told me to put him down because our baby was on the way but I fought to keep him. At the time he seemed like my only friend. Sadly I found him after a car accident with a leg broken in several places. We couldn't afford the vet fees, which was over £1000, so my girlfriend made the decision to put him down when I wasn't there. Maybe he was too injured to function but I would of tried to nurse him back to health. Looking at my broke little finger that's now permenantly bent at the end, it probably wouldn't of worked. I'll always remember stroking him on my lap as he was injured from the accident the day before he was put down and I was drinking a whisky, it wasn't that sweet a memory though as he bit me.

Now we just have 2 kids, 4 and 1 and maybe we'll get a pet down the line, but not a cat because we might be too near to a mainroad.

I'm an animal lover so basically i dun really hv a preference as each hv their own plus points, 4 eg. dogs r loyal & cats r independent (need less attention) & etc. However, i do find cats cuter than dogs in general & other furry animals such as hamsters & rabbits pretty cute as well. I guess ultimately it all boils down 2 which type/breed 1 prefers. ;)

I wouldn't discriminate between cats and dogs or most other animals, for that matter. Though at some point in my life I promised myself I'd never own a pet as long as I'm an urban city dweller.

Once I live in the countryside I'll get as many animals as I can.
Until then, I'll simply enjoy spending time with other people's pets when I've got the opportunity.

I had a miniature pinscher when I was a child. He was a dog with a character being somewhere between a dog and a cat (great loyal friend and an individualist). So I'm kinda both in cats and dogs camp :)
