Steam is flat out going way down hill. Moderation there is overboard for really dumb stuff, and double standard at best. They dont even try to offer DRM free stuff or advertise it and care if people cant play without logging into Steam. Since GOG came around later please step up the transfer program 100%. I do not want to be on Steam anymore or be stuck with it and all my games library worth 1K prolly because of some sorry arse mod that day says something was irrelevant and off topic and bands me.

I also posted a tradescam one time where someone scammed me for all my steam cards and IRL money with all the screenshots of the conversation and only a month ago after 10 months went by did I get a reply they were trade restricted. And it can take weeks or months for Steam support to get back with someone but they can be johnny on the spot with stupid moderation that doesn't make their platform or the games community any better.

PLEASE offer full library transfers for any of the games that are on both platforms. You might get the impression from this post it was my fault or I have some kind of problem and spam or something and that is not the case. Steam is becoming malicious with moderating and someone cant even make a small offtopic joke without any insults, obscenities or anything now.

"Please, GOG. Pay developers to let us have our already purchased games here at a total loss to your store without any recompense. Steam sucks and has for a while, and I just want to get my Steam games here even if it bankrupts your company"

And who will pay the fee for the transfer ?
Why should they care about DRM Free? There's no need to. Also, why would GOG give away that many games? It's not practical.

Totally legit question. Let me brainstorm on it for awhile. There has to be a way for it to not put GOG out, and still be possible for a painless transfer. Actually to make it benefit GOG to do so. There just ha to be a way it can be done right.

That depends on how much they want to support their own prerogative and what cards they want to make. They do offer that pathway its just not near robust enough to make much difference.

There isn't. There's a cost involved for GOG no matter what, if only in the costs in bandwidth for people to DL the games. But I highly doubt GOG can just unilaterally decide to give away games without publisher/dev permission. And there's probably little chance the publishers/devs would all decide to just pass on the potential revenue all those games (multiplied by however many gamers make the switch) would represent.

On a side note: being banned from Steams forums won't restrict you from accessing or playing your Steam games.

I know that. Its the principle. I cant support that kind of platform morally. I dont want to be bothered with that kind of moderation or have gamers threatened over unnecessary things like that when they've invested so much into their games and that API. I wasn't born yesterday.

Also its kind of stupid to ask a question like why should a gaming distribution site care about DRM free. Because they are a gaming site for gamers who play games and may want to play offline without needing to log in? Or have their catalogue feel threatened by overzealous double standard modding on a whim?

Even seeing my new thread first post is called low rated is quite bottom of the barrel. This doesn't promote any open discussion about bad policies or legitimate questions. I can feel the herd gathering up and snorting. I really dont give a rats arse about opinion as far as that goes. I just ant my games on a legit API, my harddrive, and unlimited access. Not stored in some cloud and having access revoked over a illegitimate forum policy moderation. Its not really opinion based to me.

I know they wont, but I am going to ask Steam if they will refund me all my games for the price I bought them at. If nothing else they can take note.
Years ago my cousin convinced me to to use steam. So I bought around 20 games or so. In 2016 I went completely offline with my gaming PC because of Microsoft telemetry mining and hence I lost all of my legally bought games on steam :(

I miss playing Assetto Corsa out of the bunch the most.
Does it matter if I bought my games at GameStop or BestBuy?
No. I should have the right to play them even today from any store/storefront I chose. Devs got paid.
Steam should transfer my games here I paid for them.

Good foresight for a problem in the industry. GPU telemetry as well. Its all sold out on technicalities and anti privacy and consumer. All big business oriented. Knowing is not enough though. Unfortunately. Companies change things over time as well so people can lose out when changes are made.

Good news!

GOG recently implemented a library transfer option. You can find all eligible games here: https://www.gog.com/games?page=1&sort=title (varying transfer fees may apply)
