No Gods or Kings or DRM.

Update: Classic versions of Bioshock and Bioshock 2 are now available. If you already own Bioshock Remastered or Bioshock 2 Remastered, you can download classic versions directly from your GOG library.

BioShock™ and BioShock 2™ Remastered are finally available DRM-free.

The legendary shooters emerge from somewhere beyond the sea, dripping with that deliciously claustrophobic atmosphere of decay, corruption, and human ambition gone wrong.
Widely considered as the gold standard for story-driven shooters with light RPG elements, they have been remastered to feature higher resolution textures and models, director's commentary, and several other additions that ensure time will never wash them away.
Pump yourself full of plasmids, pump your enemies full of bullets, and dive right back into Rapture's beautifully rotten halls.

apehater: 20 bucks for each?? did they remaster them with gold?? anyway have them on steam and a drm free humble version of bs1 which is uncut too!

Ganni1987: They're Discounted by 75% during this sale, so that's 5$.
you're right, but i think you missed my point

IronArcturus: How long will the 75% discount last?
January 3rd is when the sale ends.
avatar
JudasIscariot: It's in the game already :)
Is there an official release date for the classic versions of Bioshock?

It's also when the party ends. :D
Yess, finally!
I grabbed a DRM-free Bioshock1 ages ago on HB for pennies, but I frankly wanted it here.
Well done.
Like the blind hooker said: "Man, I didn't see THAT coming!"

Nice additions, gOg! I mean, really, great work.

And thank you to the folks at 2K.

I didn't, but as far as remasters go, they did actual work on them, I found this video today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgPAjckMGpY

I'm well aware of how old these games are and a 20€ base price may seem too much. Also don't forget they come with the DLC's which were previously sold separately.
I actually like Bioshock 2 more than one. A lot of people don't like 2 because it hit a lot of the same notes, but if you play them out of order or just ignore the similar plots 2 is an improvement on most points. The combat is a lot better, the choices actually matter, and I found the character arcs to be much more rewarding.
Wow, thank you very much GOG and 2K for bringing here Bioshock 1 and 2.

Fingers crossed they do show up and it's not a Nuclear Throne "Daily Challenges" (or whatever) situation. I want to see the wishes completed. (somebody else could submit the two wishes below if they think the Remastered editions count as fulfilling the votes)

This one is good to go though afaik:

I'm still wondering why people have such an issue with the remasters. I just played the first couple hours of Bioshock, and it ran without a hitch and it looks quite good, too. *shrug*

Gekko_Dekko: wait, but wasnt it paid dlc on steam's remaster?
It still is. When the remasters were released, the remastered Minerva's Den DLC was given free to users who had it when the game(s) converted over to Steamworks off GFWL back in 2012/2013 (forget which year, exactly).
Nice! Super long time overdue, but a welcome release here. How about BioShock Infinite as well?

BigTinz: Does BS 2 include Minerva's Den?
avatar
mobutu: Yes, all Remastered versions on any e-store have Minerva Den
Tell me when you and others have installed it that it shows up because under extra's on the page it only lists "Protector's Trials".
