Send them back to (bullet) hell!

The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia is now available, DRM-free. Get it 15% off until February 21st, 4pm UTC.

Get ready to type out the demonic hordes! Rome is infested with the bastards - your job is to vanquish them by typing exorcisms while dodging all sorts of unholy projectiles and holding your Bible close. Intense boss fights, a darkly satirical story, and copious amounts of strong words await Ray Bibbia.

Get the Soundtrack for your collection and don't forget to give the Demo a try, too.
Can anyone explain how exactly the controls work?

Do the words just involve one side of the keyboard and the other used for movement?

Or is it like Epistory where you switch between moving and typing?

There's a demo here on GOG

You move with the arrow keys and type with your other hand. Kind of a pain if you're not used to typing with one hand. Basically the game is a series of bullet hell boss battles. You do have some respite in the pattern to type in the demo battles at least. If you get hit you lose your book and have a short time to pick it up or you'll have to start over typing the entire sentence for that boss phase again. If you make a mistake while typing it deletes the previously correct letter.

It might be fun, but that one-handed typing thing might be too much of a pain. Seriously, try the demo.
It's a shame that while I like the rest of the game the demo presented, the controls just leave me completely unconvinced. I much rather have a pure typing game rather than this super awkward beast. =/

Bah this is shovelware horseshit and apparently not the only one that got past curation this week.

I've said that a few times and even in a much nicer and less abrasive way and I always get down voted into oblivion... how'd you manage to go unscathed? ;)

Luck, it's not like i'm never getting downvoted, i'm never trying to mean but i'm hmm how to best explain it, I speak and write how i see things rather than holding back and pretend it looks like a great game.

Tbh here, typing and moving at the same time sounds...not good at all.

It sounds challenging. Might still be an interesting game though. Gladly there is a demo, I'll check it out.

Sure but i still separate "interesting" from being good or fun. After all the whole point of playing games is to have fun or have i missed something here ?

It's definately not something i would play that i know but if the game manage to get a great reception then i guess i will have to eat up what i said.

You might want to look into definition of things then, if you're gonna keep "am not an asshole I'm just honest" attitude. Because it has nothing to do with shovelware.

Here, let me give you few words describing something bad: poor, atrocious, awful, cheap, rough, unacceptable, sad, swedish.

Yeah, how can people press two different sets of buttons at the same time? Sounds really impossible, I wonder if any game has ever done it... Nah, prolly not.

I haven't said it sounds impossible, i said it sounds like shit gameplay and not fun at all. Also if i think the game looks like trash i'm going to say so.

Btw since when was shovelware not crap ? i have never play any good shovelware games but i do see your point since shovelware and bad games are not always the same thing even if both are bad besides i like word shovelware. Also where have i been an asshole ? point me to a thread where i have attacked a user or anything but no crapping on games that looks poor is obviously a very asshole thing to do, oh well.

Might be the whole point for you. I also like games that are not fun, but a really good or interesting (gaming) experience.

That's fine, everyone likes different things and that is how it should be. I spoke from my point of view only.

Wish we had SEGA here... The Typing of the Dead: Overkill is a blast!
