Yes. But they're at the very end now.

I'm really sad that the Codex thread somehow evolved into that vaccination insanity. The drama of bashing different games was magnificent at it's height.
Grimoire is never going to be released.

That's the update.

Not that this is news but just a reminder for anyone wondering what is new.

Nothing is new. It's just the same shit, different day.

On a bright note, refunds were issued to those requesting them. I think it was a total of five were made.

Official? Cleve said it's never gonna happen?
It's coming. After a couple of hundred more indiegogo campaigns.

Seriously, we've moved past comparisons to DNF and the like -- Grimoire is like Intelligent Design Creationism. It keeps promising all the time that soon, something really big is going to happen to validate it, and it's "just around the corner".

We need to move on. The sooner we can get this perpetual tempest in a teapot out of our minds, the better.
Im wondering what happened with this. I vaguely remember there being only a few bugs and polishing to do, then Cleve got a job. Is it that hard to do minor things to finish the game?

Considering what kind of a legacy code hell the game must be on the grounds of how long it has been on the works, I'm guessing even the smallest of changes are bound to break stuff.
Have ye courage, o my brethren?
The signs are everywhere.
Some did not see it coming,
others refused to see.
I can feel it in the tingle of the air,
in the heartbeat of the earth
And I can tell that the Grimoire is
coming all down on me.

Maybe possibly. But still people believed in his game enough to back him..two crowdsourcing efforts? and all others who donated to his work?. Has he definitely said it isnt going to be done at all?.

I've no idea what Cleve has said about the project, as I'm not a backer nor have I followed to production that closely. I do he's a bit of a loose cannon and a braggart though, as he values his skills very high and seems to think of himself as some sort of a wizkid of coding (which he migh be, I don't know as I don't know him).

The game also has a legendary status among RPG fans, especially at sites like RPGCodex, where Cleve has promised to deliver long time before crowdfunding even became a thing. A lot of his clout seems to be on the fact, that at some point of his life he was attatched on a Wizardry project that never was completed.

I agree.

I would encourage anyone visiting this thread who did pledge to either of the campaigns to request a refund from Cleve via the means of contact available to you on the relevant Indiegogo page.

I got my refund much to my surprise.

Cleve Blakemore and the game he will never finish no longer exist in my world.

I can no longer complain about anything here. I got a happy ending. Good enough.

As such, I won't visit this thread again either but I wish all here the best. May you find plenty of fun adventuring and leveling up in a good and finished game. We have plenty of them these days thankfully.

Just to clarify as it was asked about a couple times above, the only official announcement from Cleve recently was yet another promise of finishing the game weeks ago now which did not come to pass per usual. I am saying there will be no game because all evidence makes that abundantly clear. So that's my announcement, not Cleve's. Sorry to have unintentionally given the wrong impression there.

I won't argue the point with anyone either. I don't want to argue with anyone about anything. So again, best wishes to all and have a lot of fun.

Kinda pointless to post this here, but at this point I am convinced this whole Grimoire BS was a scam from the get go and probably just facilitated Cleve's Australian home move and new bunker construction. Beyond every failed milestone (e.g. alpha, beta, backer super-demo, undelivered perks) ....not one was met... Cleve's latest action is just the typical work of a con-man and I at least wanted some public record of Cleve's scam.

Following the advice of dirtyharry50, who actually got a refund from Cleve, I issued another request on top of my original attempts for a refund back in 2014. In true Cleve fashion, I received another childish insult in his poorly worded/spelled response that informed me that my refund had already been sent and I should never attempt to communicate with him again. However, all he really did was convert my IndieGoGo.com account status to REFUNDED so I can no longer comment there. Cleve then went to go to great lengths to boast in the campaign comment section about his good nature by issuing refunds at a personal loss, but these words like ALL of his other updates are nothing but more lies.

Now well over 30-days later, still no refund, still no PayPal Transaction ID as proof it was ever even sent, and still no account access on IndieGoGo.com. Out of the several backers that requested refunds, to my knowledge only one has been refunded and the rest have the same treatment as I. I am still fighting with IndieGoGo.com (my advise is NEVER back any projects through that scam facilitator (e.g. google Healbe GoBe)) to get my account reactivated, but regardless this last action is clear that even if the campaign eventually completes successfully... not likely... I will still be defrauded of my original $100 contribution since according to Cleve's own words, "he no longer owes me anything."
