AB2012: ...
Well hot dam son thanks for the explanation. I'll try to remember this. Looks like DRM is much more prevalent than what it seems on the surface.
Now if only Sega wasn't run by ignorant, incompetent monkeys who can never see a world past Steam on PC...

You mean like 99% of the other Japanese companies? Place half the blame on GOG for failing with their marketing efforts (if there were even any) and declining games from Japanese companies that did want to put games up here.

Sega is worse than most as a whole because they are not only ignorant of the market outside Japan, they've done so, SO many things to ruin their own success and progress for decades. In fact Sega has a lot in common with the modern running of GOG.

The mere idea of them understanding what GOG is, let alone considering them joining here is laughable, even more so than most oblivious Japanese companies.

Yet they knew who/what DotEmu was and put their old titles on there.

You Mean WonderBoy? Sega have almost nothing to do with the remake (if anything), and they only published the original version. At the very most Sega's involvement would have been a mindless signing of a document with a combination of the three different actual publishers doing all the work.

No I mean back when DotEmu had a store, like 5-7 years ago, they brought numerous SEGA titles to the store DRM-free. I mean they were just old emulated games but still, it was explicitly SEGA stuff.

Ah, right I completely forgot about those. Those were pretty awful emulations, up to DotEmu's usual standards, Sega would have just been signing off and taking royalties, and notice they're all gone now anyway as Sega clearly fell into 'DRM protects our games, DRM is good' mindset.

I never forget when the Sega CEO didn't even know what Streets of Rage was.
If Sonic Mania is released here would have no hesitation in buying it the first day.
But, to be honest, I prefer other games like Bayonetta or Alien Isolation.

Now I konw that everything can happen so come on GOG, you can do it!

If we're listing games we'd want to see from sega on GOG, I'd love all of their Warhammer games!
Yakuza 0 now has Denuvo removed!

It's easier to have sex with a nun in a catholic church than to see a Yakuza game here.
