Alright this one has always baffled me , we already have the cryo series of three Atlantis games , however the series is incomplete two other games missing aka

1) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantis_Evolution was made after cryo shut down

2) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secrets_of_Atlantis:_The_Sacred_Legacy made by the The Adventure Company

Now what bums me out the most is back then i was not able to play the original cryo trilogy cause they were pretty awful to get them running on windows xp at the time without proper tweaks , they are still kinda broken to this day.

But i did play and finish one Atlantis game i.e The Secrets of Atlantis: The Sacred Legacy and loved it , it ran well , had good graphics for the game and had decent challenges that kept you going. I no longer own the physical copy sadly to replay it ......

I was wondering why these two games are not on gog they are much playable than the Atlantis series on gog so far .

I tried to look up who might hold the ip now like our barry or tfishell does but this has changed hands so much its confusing here is what i found out.

Cryo closed after the third game -> The Adventure Company (Dreamcatcher) got the ip -> They got sold to Nobilis i have no clue who has the ip now

Also found this trailer which calls the last game as Atlantis 5 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vXlI8Bdpxk

Try asking Anuman:
http://www.anuman.com/index-2

They used to publish those two games on GamersGate before eventually removing their whole catalog from there.

You can also ask their subsidiary, Microids, who seem to have been involed with the iphone/ipad versions:

Are you sure they were sold to Nobilis?

If THQ Nordic still has it, there may be hope...

Or we can buy them at FireFlower Games? Or have you sworn only to buy games from GOG or something?

In terms of future updates for modern systems, do you want to buy from a store selling them under a publisher which no longer has the rights (if that is the case)? Wonder how old that installer is given it lists Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 for #4 and just Windows XP / Vista / 7 for #5? Was Win 10 out yet?

Other DRM-free stores are great except when they don't get updates...

Those games have completely ceased development, what kind of updates are you expecting from the publisher?

One of the features of GoG is that they take steps to try to keep games working on modern systems. As it stands, the listing on FireFlower doesn't list Win 10 compatibility at all, and doesn't even have #5 listed as Win 8 compatible which is a serious red flag. If those are outdated, and the publisher is MIA, no problems will be fixed. I recall how bad it was when Desura went down. No more updates got pushed, no more bug fixes. Everything was outdated.

Or in short, the kind of updates we get here...
Future support and updates are something I look for and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

The Desura example isn't relevant because these games are never going to be updated by the publisher. The Desura situation was with games that were being updated on Steam not being updated on Desura, which is a feeling most GOGgers are probably familar with. These Atlantis games are never going to be updated anywhere by their publisher. No store I can think of (other than GOG) fixes the games themselves. I get that GOG fixes are a nice thing to have, but I would never restrict myself to only GOG games.

How is it not relevant? As it stands, there is no telling if those games work on Win 10, and the fifth title probably doesn't even work on Win 8. Microsoft has already ended mainstream support for Win 7 and Win 8.1. And will end extended support for Win 7 in about a year and a half and Win 8.1 at the beginning of 2023.

Personally, I'm glad someone wants to look into who could bring the other games here.
