I'd say you wouldn't choose McDonalds for the quality of the food, but its price.

It's funny, I have just seen the movie The Founder, about the origin of McDonalds. There is a scene where one of the characters goes the extra mile to find the perfect quality for the fries (and in general for all the food that was served). How priorities change...

That's a misconception, unless I misread your post.

The idea is that fast food, while horrible, is cheap. That's BS. One meal at McDonalds is around three to four dollars; ONE MEAL. You can easily buy a weeks worth of pasta for that and in addition live much healthier. A large box of spaghetti is what, a dollar? Ever cook up an entire large box of spaghetti? That's a lot of fucking spaghetti! :P

You'll go broke FAST trying to live cheap by eating fast food.

I think all fries made by fast foods sucks...

I only eat fries made from real fresh potatoes (the main reason why they are not good is that they are frozen and fry them with poor oil).

You can make good fries in your home with a simple pan or go to a slow food restaurant.
if I have to go to a fast food I just eat chicken... Is the most "safe" thing. But I usually avoid fast food... if I have to save money I just go to a hypermarket and I buy bread, ham and cheese.

It is cheaper if we assume a situation where we are going out for lunch. If we consider staying home and cooking a proper meal... then yeah, it will be cheaper and healthier.

They are also insanely proud of their fries in the Netherlands (one of the main selling points of every place they took me). If you ask me, they weren't that good...

KFC can make half-way decent fries.

How come McDonalds is unable to produce anything but the most vile, vomit-inducing, moist, wiggly, limp fries you ever had to abuse your taste buds with? And it's the same anywhere in the world. No matter if it's the US, Europe or China: Anywhere I go, McDonals fries are disgusting stuff that remind me of nasal mucus.

Any goggers out there who work at McDonalds part-time and wish to disclose whether the production of such nauseating fries is company policy?
The more important question is: why do you patronize such establishments in the first place? Disgusting.

My missus is now frofthing at the mouth, Netherlands is not Belgium!! By the way, Belgium invented the French fries.

Yep, noodles, rice, potatoes and various vegetables are all affordable and make for a solid basis for some simple and healthy dishes. Doesn't take much time or cooking skills, either.

All fast food fries are shit if they're not straight out of the fryer. If you get McCrapold's fries fresh from the fryer and not ones that have been sitting under the heat lamp, then they're pretty good. Otherwise, you may as well be eating strips of damp tissue paper.

I fail too see how cockroach parts, trans fats, and fecal matter can become significantly better or worse depending on when they came out of the fryer. :P
