Joking aside - they did a slight redesign but, as far as I'm concerned it's still in line with how certain facial features change as a result of the aging process.

I highly doubt the ingame character model's face will end up looking exactly like in the cinematic trailer anyway, there's always been a noticeable difference between the two.

My understanding is they realized with Cyberpunk that RedEngine had become an impediment dragging them down, especially when trying to port the game to consoles.

Sometimes it is a better idea to use other companies' established tools, than trying to invent your own programming language, game engine etc., and keep them up to date and relevant too.

The main reason big companies are jumping to Unreal is easy portability to pretty much anything, yes. Croteam swapped to UE 5 for the same reason. If they were PC only, I don't think they'd need the swap.

Such a loss though, that engine outdid Square in real game graphics back in the day. I remember first seeing Witcher 2 trailer and when it said it was in-game footage I was in awe that they outdid Final Fantasy graphics and the graphics matched the high CG that Final Fantasy had created.
Now the quality will stagnate and won't be nearly as good looking in graphics as before unless they brute force it in having WAY too many staff to get it done.
As for Uncharted, it's basically an Indy ripoff. I mean Naughty Dog largely doesn't have a creative bone in their body except for "Last Of Us". I enjoy Uncharted but will call it what it is.
Regarding Witcher, didn't the enhanced versions change some dialogue or cover up Trish's cleavage and other weird stuff?
Why can't CDPR just have a separate entry for the original Witcher 1 and 2. Not like this hasn't happened before.

I feel like only the first Uncharted deserves to be called a Indy rip-off, and with the second game it found more of its own identity by leaning more into the whole "thieve's world" angle and overall tweaking the tone a bit. I mean sure, the entire series is very Indy-esque, and that's precisely why I like it so much, but I definitely think of it as its own separate entity now. Hell, the Indy movies also borrowed heavily from some earlier titles, but I don't think anyone would argue they are just a Secret of the Incas rip-off :D So I think Uncharted has become a worthy separate entry in a long line of pulpy treasure hunting.

The games series that is. The movie on the other hand... ugh.

Oh I figure you would reference Alan Quartermain for Indy but yeah generally I have little respect for Naughty Dog in terms of story. Heck I mean I know the relationship between Jake and Sully is solid but it feels like a clear been there done that trope in movies and it doesn't feel fresh at all. Instead it feels like acting transplanted from a movie in the most obvious way.

If someone wants to do the movie angle correctly look at the Metal Gear Solid series or Yakuza.

That being said I think the character dynamic between Ratchet and Clank feels good.

Ciri is OK. I play the Witcher series to play Geralt.

Her sequences were OK in W3, but to play her full time? Yeah, there will be a lot missing with that.

Witcher IV is going to be a hard pass for me I think.

Let us not judge something which has, as of yet, not come to pass. There will be ample time to observe henceforth.

My fervent aspiration is that this offering is not released before it is truly ready to be played without technical glitches.

The big problem with the Witcher 4 is the political climate that the game industry has created.

People are tired of girl bosses replacing male protagonist's in game series. People are going to naturally associate Ciri with this agenda. Even if this was done out of good faith people are fed up. Also I enjoyed the Witcher games playing as Geralt and have no desire to really play as another character.
