cross3yed0ni: A lot of you guys oughta read comics if you want to understand what Superman is ACTUALLY about.
Because obviously, people with different tastes than yours can't possibly also be knowledgeable fans of the comics. And in the 80+ years of Superman comics there's only ever been one style of those.

Super excited to see a different new perspective on Superman in movies after quite some time. I liked MoS too but I feel James Gunns perspective on SUperman is much more in a positive and joyous manner compared to Snyder's. DCU has a lot of potential if those characters are handled with the right directors. James Gunn hasnt failed DC as of now (since Peacemaker and Suicide Squad were both great). Honestly this comparison isnt even valid but people will compare it to the most recent version of Superman either way.

Are you watching Creature Commandos? If you like Gunn's DC work I highly recommend it. The show doesn't hold anything back when it comes to violence, and I was not prepared for how raunchy it would be. The writing and animation is bloody fantastic. Episode 5 comes out the day after Christmas.

I see you're a fan of Man as well!

I have not watched it yet. It is on my to watch list tho. I am planning to watch it during the holidays. I just finished watching Watchmen Chapter 1 and I liked it a lot. I will definitely watch Creature Commandos soon. Ill let you know what I think about it as well. I didnt know James Gunn was behind it.

I always have been a fan of Man (RIP Skedetcher). Greatest superhero of all time imo. I was there at the time of creation of Man. If there is a million fans for Man, I am one among them. If there is even 1 fan for Man, that is me. If there are no fans for Man, that means I have died.

I will see you in aslume.

I dont understand the hate behind Snyders version of Superman. Even in comics, there were different interpretations of Superman. Injustice also had a dark interpretation and people did like it. People dont have good opinions about it now for some reason but either way, different interpretation of Superman was good. I understand Superman is supposed to be a good character and supposed to instill hope and faith. You can see that in a lot of scenes in MoS as well. It was dark and I still dont understand the reason behind Jonathan kent's death. Snyder's interpretation is not without flaws just like every other interpretation but I dont see the reason to say its absolute trash.

As of James Gunns Superman, I liked it too. I cant say which one I would prefer until the time I actually see the movie but I have high hopes that this will be a phenomenal depiction of Superman from what I can see in the trailer. I dont know why some Snyder fans are saying showing Krypto was bad but I liked it. Except for Guy gardner's haricut, I liked everything that was shown. I know some people would say that is his haircut in the comics but there are flaws in comics too. His haircut design is a horrible choice even in comics imo.

What bothers me about him is why is he not wearing his Green Lantern costume when he's clearly using a Green Lantern ring?

Guy Gardener's garb has been depicted a few times as being vastly different than the traditional "spandex" sleek suit (for example: Batman the Brave and the Bold).

In the teaser trailer he actually IS wearing a variant of the suit, as depicted by the symbol on his belt. Unfortunately the over-saturation of the green lighting in the scene washes out the green colouration of said costume... I'd say it's a much deeper and more subtle "serious" green rather than being vibrant. Looks like they chose more white in his outfit than other styles I've seen though.

I know the symbol is there (on the sleeves too) but it just doesn't look anything like his comics costume at all. You're right it's probably the light that makes it look like he's wearing the same exact colors as Mr. Terrific, but even so his costume still looks like something out of the Arrowverse tv shows. For a second at first I even thought they were going for something more like this (I had poor memory of that costume before I searched for it). I guess we'll have to wait for a better shot to really judge, but what little is here I don't like at all.

Then again, I think even Superman's costume looks rather bad and cheap.

Agreed. Made worse that the actor's physique doesn't fill it out to counter for it.

It really is astounding to me that the Superman from the god-awful Supergirl tv show actually looks way better.
