krakataul: Swiss just missed penalty :)
I would rather say that Lloris stopped a penalty kick!

Must ask - what is general opinion in France about Mbappe and his role in national team? Sometimes it seems that he plays his private game in this tournament, unlike World Cup where he was more team player...

The medias, and the football enthusiasts in general, keep comparing him to Pelé, especially since he won the World Cup at such young age. When the whole world acclaims you over and over again, fame eventually goes to your head. He has also been a big fan of CR7 for many years, so he wants to be like him: be the greatest of all time.

Unfortunately, at times he's too greedy and tries to score rather than assist (I don't remember the statistics regarding his assists, but I know they are pathetic.). He has done that so many times with PSG.
But he's a smart kid with a good personality. A majority of people like him. He's also pretty good at interviews, in my opinion anyways.

I don't envy him how he feels after today's game...

By the way - absolutely wonderful games today, with so many goals. Almost like in my favorite ice hockey ;)
Yep, two great games indeed. Think Switzerland deserved the win. I called both games, very wrongly as it turned out. Didn’t think either Croatia or Swiss would come back, but they did!
Let’s hope tonight’s games are the same, though England usually score 1 then sit on that until they lose, so not holding hope.
I'm hoping for better from England today than their 'usual' result against Germany, but I won't get my hopes up! :D

Germany seem to often wake up in the knockout stages.

Yes, they have an annoying habit of taking their foot off the gas. If you're 1-0 up going into the last 15 minutes, it makes sense to try and defend and protect it. But not trying to protect a 1 goal lead for a whole half, inviting the pressure on like they do.

last night's games were the best of the tournament, by far.

Yep, been like it for years now. It’s very annoying. You can almost see the whole team just go off for a cup of tea after a goal, no effort to go for another like the other teams. Thankfully Germany no longer have piggy poker playing, so they lack major strike in the box and rushing forward, so as long as England stay awake we have a good chance. Just no penalties please, I don’t think I could handle it.

Yeah, I've had enough of penalties. Ugh ...
Phew! I called it again, said Kane wasn’t doing much and didn’t fit and so should come off at half time. Thankfully they didn’t listen to me!! It wasn’t a bad game.
England rewarded for playing positive football, Germany was unrecognizable, Joachim Löw again with strange tactical and player selecting decisions. Was expecting more from both sides.

Well, that wasn’t the greatest game. Congrats to Ukraine and hope your player is ok of course. I am not convinced on the red card, it’s definately dangerous, but it definately wasn’t intentional and it was an open ball. That aside it was a good 90mins. The extra time wasn’t though. Still, there we go, see you on Saturday Ukraine.
Oh well, wouldn't have made it to the final, let alone to raising the cup anyway (already got one 3 weeks ago). Plus, we're in good company with other 1st and 2nd tier aspirants to the title having crashed out of the tournament as well.

"Hopp Schwiiz" from now on, I guess.
Some real emotional roller coaster games so far. France vs Switzerland was insane! France of course didn't play its best, but it sure made for entertaining football.
Well. Thought Swiss were very unlucky, own goal, injury, red card that shouldn’t have been. Sometimes your not fated to win. Italy were better in the first half, then they turned into the national diving squad. Italy v Spain will be hilarious, players flying all over and rolling around.
Just started the Denmark, Czech game, commentators cannot understand why they are in Baku which is miles from anyone and is in Asia more than Europe, answer is simple, look at the sponsors, uefa have been brought way back. Much like the World Cup being in the bastion of football, Qatar.
