frenchdoe: I wonder why noone ever seems to mention that you can't even choose the installation folder of GOG Galaxy. That's a pretty total no-no for me...
kaboro: Uninstalled GoG Galaxy recently because of the persisting 2gb download fail, so i cant give you details.
This being said, for as long as i used it, i always have been able to select the download folder.
Maybe they changed this recently i dont know, but have you checked carefully the options?
You sure missed some options (not your fault, Galaxy is not very intuitive), because i always turned off running at startup and selected the download folder of my choice.
GoG Galaxy is like that, some options are in the most unintuitive places, reminds me of smartphones more than a PC platform, have to check every button, look under every submenu.
Sorry i dont have it installed, else i would have given you details on where the options are.
You definitely have a valid complaint with the support ticket, and your observations about galaxy are spot on (I believe you can choose when installing where you want it to install to, but as you noted, it's not intuitive and not obvious. I think there's a small 'option' button if memory serves - been a while since I installed it).
What I suggest for support is to toss a direct message via Chat to one of the blues on here and see if they can kickstart it. Sounds like it got lost in the flood (COVID has really messed with their support turnaround, and now the release of Cyberpunk is likely wreaking havoc as well).
That being said, your DL issues have to be something other than GOG.Check with your ISP to make sure they're not messing with it (maybe they think GOG isn't legit?) Also, check your antivirus and make sure it's not blocking something or messing with something. I'm in Canada as well (west coast) and have no issues with GOG downloads. In fact, they're pretty fast unless the site is being hammered.
