It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Makasouls: Its better than steam, just for the fact that I control if my game updates or not. I am so sick of playing no man sky and they update on steam, and it turns space into some ravers drugged out fantasy of what space looks like. With gog i just dont let it update and end of story lol.

kaboro: Yes, this is the one and only reason i buy games on GoG when they release here early.
The irony is that when years ago i wrote a post on these forums suggesting the updates to not be mandatory and have an option to roll back, the community jumped on me with critiques and insults, its actually then that i got most my negative rep, not because of my later angry posts, go figure.

J Lo: 2) It's not the site's fault your internet sucks.
avatar
kaboro: How come my internet only sucks on GoG and not anywhere else?

J Lo: 3) Contact support if you feel your ticket is taking too long.
avatar
kaboro: Yeah thank you for the advice Einstein, but support said they will look into it and havent heard from them in weeks.
So contact support to complain about lacking support...thats an interesting logic.

J Lo: Take it easy on the clowns while you're at it. They're just trying to make a living. Not even Batman hates clowns this much.

kaboro: Awww you have a heart for clowns, i guess you feel represented
2) That's a question you should ask your ISP.

3) PM a mod

frenchdoe: I wonder why noone ever seems to mention that you can't even choose the installation folder of GOG Galaxy. That's a pretty total no-no for me...
Uninstalled GoG Galaxy recently because of the persisting 2gb download fail, so i cant give you details.
This being said, for as long as i used it, i always have been able to select the download folder.
Maybe they changed this recently i dont know, but have you checked carefully the options?
You sure missed some options (not your fault, Galaxy is not very intuitive), because i always turned off running at startup and selected the download folder of my choice.
GoG Galaxy is like that, some options are in the most unintuitive places, reminds me of smartphones more than a PC platform, have to check every button, look under every submenu.
Sorry i dont have it installed, else i would have given you details on where the options are.

You definitely have a valid complaint with the support ticket, and your observations about galaxy are spot on (I believe you can choose when installing where you want it to install to, but as you noted, it's not intuitive and not obvious. I think there's a small 'option' button if memory serves - been a while since I installed it).

What I suggest for support is to toss a direct message via Chat to one of the blues on here and see if they can kickstart it. Sounds like it got lost in the flood (COVID has really messed with their support turnaround, and now the release of Cyberpunk is likely wreaking havoc as well).

That being said, your DL issues have to be something other than GOG.Check with your ISP to make sure they're not messing with it (maybe they think GOG isn't legit?) Also, check your antivirus and make sure it's not blocking something or messing with something. I'm in Canada as well (west coast) and have no issues with GOG downloads. In fact, they're pretty fast unless the site is being hammered.

mqstout: GOG has lost a lot of "legit credibility" these last couple of months with continued encroachment of DRM on the platform (No Man's Sky, Cyberpunk 2077) showing that they give fuckall care about their customers and the one thing that sets them apart (above) other platforms.

The shit the OP posted? That's all on the OP...

* My husband got said promotion successfully. It did require a support email due to the original external vendor sending a code that had like a blink of an eye expiration window (he went a weekend without checking email and it expired, but support refreshed it)
* Never had issues downloading, via web, gogdownloader [the best they had], or Galaxy.
* This can be true, but is also true of every vendor in existence right now, in every sector, sadly.
Yep we are just pawns of the corporations:( But no man sky with quest 2 vr is super nice, im just thankful they even allow not automatic updates.

That sucks you got flak for it. I wish i knew about gog no auto update years ago. I quit starbound because steam auto updated it, and it literally broke all the work i did modding it, and there was no way to go back that i knew of at the time.

toxicTom: How come my Galaxy installation in on G: then?
avatar
frenchdoe: How did you do it, if you don't mind me asking? When I run the installer, it just immediately craps in C:\Program Files without asking me anything. (and it also configures itself to run at startup.. basically as rude as a virus :x)
Re-installed Galaxy because my manual Cyberpunk download wont install, so i can help you now.
Top left corner of the Galaxy window you will notice an icon that looks like a cogwheel and its the usual icon for the setup.

Click on that icon and chose "settings" from the drop down menu.

Now click on "General" on the left menu, and on the right you will see a checkbox "launch GOG Galaxy at system startup", just uncheck it.

Now click on "Installing, Updating" on the left side, and on the right side you will see "Game installation folder" (which by default is the C program files folder), and you will notice three dots to the right of the selected folder (...)
Clicking on that will let you browse to your installation folder of choice.
Hi anyone experienced today any problem with the Two-Step verification process? I'm not receiving any emails with the code. It was working earlier ok.

Have you checked your junk mail? Hotmail also has an "other" tab. If you use hotmail, try checking there too.
