Love the gift of a free game and movie for simply visiting the website. I don't have W2 yet, been putting off buying it as I don't have a suitable comp to play it or W1.

phaolo: Uh, the flash deals are limited in time.. so.. should I skip Dreamfall (TLJ2) and play directly Dreamfall2?
TLJ1 was great, but the sequel seemed a bit shallow from the LP.

Leroux: Your call, but I'd assume that Dreamfall: Chapters has strong ties to Dreamfall: TLJ, especially since the story of DF:TLJ wasn't concluded and people were hoping for a continuation; and DF:TLJ introduced important new characters. Then again, if you didn't like what you saw of DF:TLJ, you might not like DF:Chapters either. The gameplay is probably a lot closer to the first Dreamfall than to The Longest Journey (I think the devs said something about aiming to create an experience similar to The Walking Dead). I haven't played Chapters myself though, only TLJ and DF:TLJ.
Damn, I don't know.. well maybe I'll take it anyway as a gift for now. Thanks

Crewdroog: If you REALLY want a run down, talk to ragnarblackmane. This is like his game, and the one who introduced me to it.

Ixamyakxim: You and Ragnar are huge fans of this one too? (I have a little rundown too, on the previous page). Actually, I do think I remember Ragnar mentioning a mod for it not too long ago. Hmm...
Saying Ragnar is a huge fan of this game is putting it mildly. If he's not talking about Crusader Kings, he's talking about warband ;)

I do like the game, but I'm not ga-ga over it, mainly b/c it takes SO much time to learn how to battle. Like you said, you are like a baby knight when you start off, getting your ass handed to you often. I was digging the game though, and even poked a fight with a duke (he insulted me for being a stupid woman; ass got handed to me), but then I started to raid cattle for a poor town and that drove me bananas. I put it down and haven't picked it back up. I should though, I did enjoy it.

JMich: Will try grabbing them, but I fear an automated tool to do so will result in a (hopefully temporarily) ban on my IP.
Off to grab images then.

Ixamyakxim: LOL you're awesome you know that ;) All in the name of science!

moonshineshadow: Nah, it is quite easy too find something to moan about. Like how this should have been insomnia and not "boring" fall sale :D

Ixamyakxim: "I have to come back to the site SEVEN WHOLE TIMES to get my free AAA 40 Hour+ Title?" "Gees, I GUESS I could sink hours and hours into my free copy of Mount and Blade, but what the heck I didn't even see it was free. What the hell is up with that promo that hides it?"

Thread Title:

"OMG GoG Sucks and Stole mY Copy of Mount And Blade, I Bought ALL The Other Games and Didn't Get my Freebie!!!"
Hence the '(snicker)' in my post. :-)
Thanks for starting this thread, Sinistar. Let's see if we can outrun the promo thread in a hurry :D

katya_stevens: Now this is interesting, I clicked on Meridian: New World and it's showing up for me with a 25% discount already. I think it's had a lower discount than that on other sales, so that can't be a preview of the flash sale price, can it?

Edit: Hey people, check your wishlists. I found AI War Collection 50% off, Xenonauts 30% off, Reprisal Universe 29% off, Perimeter 49% off, the Prince of Persia games all 50% off, Avernum and Avadon games 50% off, the STALKER games 50% off (GBP prices).

No idea if this indicates potential future flash sales or more general sales, but none are marked as being on sale in my wishlist, nor on the games list with 'discounted' as an option.
These are the Fall Sale prices which will last for the duration of the sale.
I show them on the games list. Perhaps you need a refresh?
Edit: The wishlist is 'broken', it won't show sale prices for me either.

Crewdroog: I've only played warband. It is pretty fun, and the fighting is very challenging: you actually have to time stuff. I know! You can actually block and swing directionally. It is hard at first, but there are many places to practice in game. The graphics are nothing to write home about. Quests are your standard fair, but you can raid villages, pick fights with dukes, etc. My favorite is riding a horse and picking off bad guys with either melee or bow. You slowly amass an army and take on big and better opponents.

If you REALLY want a run down, talk to ragnarblackmane. This is like his game, and the one who introduced me to it.

But seriously, it is the fighting that makes this game stand out. here is a video tutorial to give you a basic idea.

IronArcturus: Cool! Thanks for the info!
NP, and Ixamyakxim covers the other part of the game that I really haven't gotten into yet :) politics. meh. I'd rather put peoples' heads on spikes ;)
I really want to get Dragonfall...but I am still a cheap bastard, and 33% off does not supercede my frugality.

I've done an account refresh, but I'm still seeing the full prices on everything (well, okay, Pillars of Eternity has an orange price button, but that's it). Might be that it still needs to trickle through the servers to get to me.

Ah yes I remember herding cattle back to town. I eventually got pretty good at it, but yes I first few times I might have come close to losing a keyboard ;)

Oh and the snicker rang through lound and clear donsanderson! I just couldn't help but list a few of the choice quotes I think I might see over the next few.
Looks like quite a few games have at least a base 50% discount...

JMich: Anyone have a link to the Carmageddon image? Missed that one.
Was this one?

Odd, perhaps log-out and back in, or a different browser?

Top of the page says "700+ GAMES ON SALE", they're not kidding! ;)
Post edited November 12, 2014 by donsanderson
A bunch of games are discounted as part of, what I assume, is the week-long "700+ games up to 90% off" part of the sale. However, if you try to sort games by Price>Discounted, they do not show up. So, good luck trying to find them all without it taking all week! :P
Meridian: New World is now available at -60%. Next is Disciples: Sacred Lands Gold.
