I'm a Dio lover. Even named my pet bird Dio :).. I Just got back from his public memorial here in Los Angeles. It was beautiful.

I just watched a few video clips from it. Hearing Geoff Tate singing Hallelujah nearly turned me religious. I wish I could have been there.
On a side note, did you see anything of the planned protest? I can't seem to find any specifics about it, so I hope it was a "non-event".
EDIT - This is funny as hell. A while back, the WBC showed up in Long Beach, CA to protest against gays, so Long Beach showed up to protest... well I'm not sure what they were protesting, but it was hysterical (note: this is NOT the Dio memorial):

Yes, I saw the protesters. Lots of "Dio in Hell" signs and "Got Hates Fags" signs. There was also a lot of Metal heads right next to them with opposing signs (nothing hateful though)... They were not allowed to protest inside the park, where the memorial took place about half a mile up the park so they were nowhere near close enough to interrupt the service.
I too was in shock when I got to hear Geoff Tate. I had no clue he was even gonna preform so when I heard his name I was so excited.
