But I am still in for the game. I want it because I feel that the Total War games mabye strategy games for me.

My problem with Warcraft, Command and Conquer, even Turned Based Strategy like HOMM is because it does truly feel like I am commanding a HUGE ARMY and sending them in Big 1000 vs 1000 battles. Like the Intro to Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos shows thousands of Orcs and Humans clashing with each other. In game just 20 stong units to attack a base.

Total War really emphasis that Massive Warfare with Massive Armies clashing against each other.

I like this Musket/Cannon firingline style+ Naval Ship style Warfare along with Medieval Warfare. Though I would rather have Medieval II Total War I am content with this is Warfare.

Also how do you properly described the type of Warfare being done in this game?

Medieval has legions of Knights on Horseback and Foot Soldiers/Pikemen aswell as Archers and Catapults provdiing ranged cover.
Medieval II is an amazing game, possibly my favorite Total War game, that said I would recommend Rome 1 first, it better helps one understand the evolution of the series. Although there are a couple of AI issues in these games they are indeed among my favorite RTS games, partly because of their massive size in battles and campaigns. I personally have not tried the games past Medieval II partly because I heard they added a Civ. like figure head to the faction and they added a tech research tree, which were not in any of the previous Total War games. The battles are probably still amazing, you can't really go wrong with any of them.

Also I completely failed to notice that I did not type the word, "Not" in the:

Empire has the advantage of having a full flegged naval combat system (a game in a game really), it can easily suck most of your playtime. The later Totalwar(s) have just fiery ramming contests on the nautical menu, epic regression if you ask me.
I really have fond memories of empire, lots of interesting reads in that game.

I actually thought the naval combat was a little better in Shogun 2 -though I also thought the land based combat in both was terrible.
Of course, I think to appreciate the combat in Empire, you really have to be interested in the tactics of the time, whereas it was a relatively dull period for me compared to WW1 onwards and of course medieval and preceeding.

Edit: just one of those spots in hostory for me - doesnt forgive them for Shogun 2 though.

Just so you know is the Redux version more demanding?

My computer contains a GTX 650. I can a play a lot of games a max. I think the only game that cannot handle it at max is Battlefield 4. I have to lower either resolution or graphics in order to keep the Framerate high.
