£20 a bit much and i would rather get it here if it comes. Got the originals anyway and quite happy with them.
As others said, meh.

I can see how this might be interesting to a Mac or iPad user, but as a PC gamer, I just don't see the point.
I love Baldur's Gate, but the game already works perfectly well on modern OS, and with some mods you can have more extra content and fix everything they've fixed, for free.

As for it being a test run for new D&D based games, they'd have to convince WotC to lease them the D&D license, and I don't see that happening, especially not for settings WotC seems to have given up on like Planescape.
Not to mention that any new game would have to use 4th edition rules(or maybe 5th depending on the release date). That's hardly likely to attract the nostalgia crowd.

Frankly, imo, either those guys are good devs and then I'd prefer they make new games rather than remakes of games that are easily available and playable, or they're not and then I won't like what they make anyway.
That's one ugly site right there. Looks like it's been made in 1995.
Pass on the PC version. I might get the ios version though, i still haven't decided.
The black Pits new quest is sooooo original...

did they just copypaste it from NWN: Hordes of underdark and few other games?

and everything looks so blurry on screenshots... Oh, and they added some blood...

and 20 bucks? I would pay $10 max, sorry. It's cool that they used Icewind Dale 2 engine (im guessing from how goblin's look), but it's not enough to pay 20 bucks for me.

orcishgamer: They should have just called it the "mobile version" and simply released this for mobile, that's basically what they were trying to do anyway.
I was thinking the same, that's probably the main point of this remake. If I was interested in rebuying Baldur's Gate a third time (which I don't, because it wasn't as good as I was hoping), I'd be most interested to the Android version, just for the diversity in the sea of casual Android games. It will probably cost much less than $19.99 there as well.

If only I could get King of the Dragon Pass on Android, too bad it is IPad-only...

Sadly, when this hits the Android app store, it will have my monies. I am powerless against it.
Ooooh, oooh, brilliant, Baldur's Gate got DLC! Brilliant, next up is KOTOR.

No, they used BG2 ToB's engine as a base, but almost rewrote everything.

See it as an adventure game...

Well, it will be 10 bucks for mobile version, and I think it's a fair price. I don't get why they demand 20 for PC version of the same game...

It gets blurry when you use the new zoom function since BG has pixel graphics.

I wonder to what end. Mods will almost surely be incompatible with it, so ... why? Touchscreen controls? It doesn't really -look- improved, and GemRB is free...

Well, there were no goblins in ToB, and in SoA they looked differently.

The goblins from the screenshots look exactly like in IWD2, so maybe they just took the goblins from this game.

But it means they just streched out the background, because you can see sharp looking characters (a little pixelated, though, lol), and blurry backgrounds...

I'm not really impressed by that... if this was their way to not make everything tiny as a pinky nail on bigger resolutions.
