It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

raydareal: "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to wpc.11df.edgecastcdn.net " is the message I receive every times I try to download any of my purchased games. ( And yes I try with Opera, IE and Firefox also )

So I bought games and all I can do is staring at them on desk...
Please help. I also tried with GOG Downloader but no luck, it kept preparing the game and then suddenly finished without anything on the folder.
I wonder if there was any error with the server because right after I bought Fallout and Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 Triple Thriller Pack, this happened.
Continue to contact Support. Sorry if you already said it, but have you tried another browser?

I think you're the third or fourth person from this part of the world that is having trouble downloading from GOG, yet again reaffirming my suspicion that this is a regional issue. I've gotten to the point where I've pretty much given up downloading my GOGs.

Hmm...but I could download 'em 2 weeks ago
Thanks, guys, for everything.
I just solved it by using Hotpot Shield to bypass proxy...still a pain.

Glad to know all of you !

Oh, dammit! I forgot to say they're in Hanoi, didn't I? If I'm not mistaken those shops are in Ho Chi Minh (and you as well).

Rewriting the post a few times (as I often do) apparently risks thinking some facts have been mentioned when they really haven't.

Anyway, thanks for confirming there is (or has been at least) a retail version, that at least lets me know the search isn't in vain.

Their HQ is in Hanoi, you should contact with the developers of the game.
I heard they are proposing the deal to Steam to get their game on.

I was about to recommend Hotspot Shield (US) or Expat Shield (UK). I think Spotflux should also work.

I think the problem will arrive if you try download huge files though, you will have to find VPNs that cost a bit of money but might be worth it in case you have a several games on GOG and then you can pay for month, download them all and then leave it at that. :)

Nirth, do you know any reliable portable version of this kind of software?

The public library in which I usually go for Internet access blocked its PCs against a lot of game-related websites (from Gamersgate to Mobygames) as well as all the proxies I've tried to avoid it. It's very frustrating to me...

Glad your issue is solved, raydareal :)

On the top of my head any VPN that offers their service through OpenVPN client because it's open source therefore you can leave the application on a USB that shouldn't require administrative rights altough that might look suspicious so unless you're desperate I would ask for permission but I wouldn't exactly bring up gaming sites, probably better to say for research (they can't spy on you, VPN software always encrypt data anyway).

If you don't mind a slower service TOR should work with their portable version but it's slow and shouldn't work for anything related to downloads or actual gaming but surfing is fine, just learn the software to pick servers (one near you and low usage).

There's also JonDonym that works kind of like TOR and a VPN, I think it's the most secure/anonymous but it's even slower than TOR, at least when I tried it.

Nirth: ...
Thanks for the kind reply, Nirth. I'll look into the suggestions you make me.

The use is only for surfing (as "which requirements has this game", or "that GamersGate title has DRM?"), not to play or download.

The problem with the public library is that many children came to play on PCs (making a lot of racket) and they solved the issue disabling too many websites (as Mobygames, which for me was THE reference for information on old games).

Ask permission is not an option because officials who work here have no idea about computers (indeed often turn to me if any user has any questions, and I'm present). The amendment has been made by the technical services of the municipality with some predefined exclusion list (I suppose).

Lucky they were not aware of the existence of GOG, or my participation in this forum have been reduced to virtually zero. ;)
