Elenarie: IIRC CD Projekt RED owns GOG. They 'exchanged places' with the CD Projekt 'whatever' company was selling games and previously owned CD Projekt RED. Now RED is the owner of both GOG and the company that sells retails games and stuff.

I doubt I make sense, though.
The umbrella company owns both the digital distribution platform (GOG) and the game dev studio (CD Projekt Red). That company was called CD Projekt but at some point had to change it's name to CD Projekt Red - which is the same name of the game dev studio but not the same company, which makes the whole thing confusing as hell.

In practical terms the people working on gog and the people making The Witcher games work on sister companies both owned by a third company.

WBGhiro: I doubt the percentage steam is getting from the sales is less expensive than the bandwith though.
True, but it's probably the combination of that, the infrastructure Steam has in place, and of course the active user base, which is somewhat bigger than GOGs.

WBGhiro: That's the problem, i fear. There's no orcs in the witcher.

Roll a new character and change race.
First it's Orcs Must Die! and now this! Bigotry is an ugly thing!
That's pretty much the last thing I would ever want.
So, how many will cosplay as Geralt in shagging mode?

Hm, I think I can find a white wig, scars are not that hard to do, contact lenses for the eyes, now to find a willing redhead...

Pemptus: In b4 angry posts demanding why, in the name of all that is holy, only the Steam version is honored in the competition, and not, oh I don't know, the version from the company's very own distribution platform.
Well it is pretty inexplicable. But then CDPR are sometimes pretty clueless about things that don't directly pertain to making great games.

WBGhiro: They probably know just how ugly the average goglodite is ;D
1. What about the average Valve fanboy? Their forums are ugly enough even without any pictures.

2. Have you seen Witcher 2? It's not exactly set in Beverly Hills.
