Welcome! And perhaps one of the best features of this site, its there's any spy software to install in order to play ;D

What a relief and pleasant surprise it was to read your first post, Charles ;)

So, welcome and +1 to you.
I agree and welcome CharlesGrey.

Beware though that GOG can get to be a real timesink. You get into old games gaming and/or start to read the forums there's a good chances you'll get really sucked in. ;)
Welcome!
Welcome to GOG and +1 :)

CharlesGrey: Yes, I have the first two. I'm pretty happy with the disc versions, since they are more or less DRM free anyway. But I might still register my disc keys, if only to see if they have any interesting bonus material for the games.

Phc7006: The most interesting bonus is that you will get the latest version. If your disc versions are not "enhanced edition" releases, that's worth the effort !
Oh, I couldn't really download a mammoth game like Witcher 2 on my connection, anyway. But I got the enhanced version of that one, so all is well. I only bought that one some months ago, and I did some research first to make sure I get the best version, since they were selling like 4 different ones.

I believe I only have an older version of the first game, though, so I might look into that.

Hah, sorry for the misleading title, then. ;)

But frankly, in times when people still buy PC ( single player ) games with always-on DRM, or pre-order triple A "beta versions" for 60+ bucks, and with millions using questionable services like Steam, Origin, Uplay(sp?) and so on -- how could anyone seriously criticize a service like GOG? Even if there's room for improvement, the site is still miles ahead of most alternatives.

That said, a little constructive critique is of course not a bad thing, if it actually helps to make this place even better. But personally I don't have any complaints. The only thing I'd ask for is for the GOG team to keep doing what they do, and keep adding many more great games.

Thanks! So I noticed already, but I'll try not to overdo it. ;)

I have to give this post another plus because of your handling with the GOG forum quote and reply function which is unintuitive, cumbersome and buggy. Strangeness abounds when newcomers try to use the forum functions.

Yeah that was a heads up and thank you for the thanks.

Oh and you can do like me with the forums if you like. Overdo it for a short while, in my case alcohol is involved fairly often and then take a hiatus. The GOG forums are always welcoming if you haven't screwed up too much and it have like other forums a long memory.
It's nice to seldom visit here and still get remembered.

The drunk thread is currently none responsive so I'm substituting with this one for my babbling. Hope you don't mind.
Welcome to GOG ;-)

I can't tell if that's sarcasm, since I don't really know what I'm doing here. Hah.

The GOG website and forum generally seem pretty clean and simple in design, though, at least compared to some other web sites.

Currently I visit at least once a day, since there's so much going on here, with all the contests, new releases, discussions and whatnot.

And there's a drunk thread? I'll have to keep that in mind, just in case.

Nope no sarcasm. :)

Yeah GOG have a nice overall layout. It's a relief compared to many other more flashy sites.

The quote system is notoriously unreliable and often mess up posts. If they haven't fixed it recently that is.

Yepp. It's an active community. Always something going on in the forums. :)

Here's The Drunk Thread. http://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_drunk_thread
That's where I tend to end up on the weekends.
