adambiser: Thanks for another puzzle!
You're most welcome.
THIS time it should be solid and working, unless the puzzle generator screwed up somewhere (I didn't test to attach the parts, I confess), but if that part works it's kind of ... solid and easy ;).

lugum: game
I thought that even the brackets one could see kind of gave it away, but sure!
Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games actually, that link contains a little hint! (Depending on how you see it ;))
Thank you very much Fujek!
I even had fun solving the puzzle ;)

I have been wondering about this point for a while now actually.
When I participate on solving a puzzle myself I hate the time pressure and the high chance that somebody's going to beat me and I ... well, I shouldn't say I'd end with nothing, since I enjoyed the contest, but I end out 'lacking' a prize.
So, the question is, would it be better to 'stack' up gift codes and then have a single great give-away where the few regular attenders here have a chance to win one each with far less time pressure, or would it be better to spread them out and do this more often like now...
I've just found this and what a nice puzzle :D

I think - current method is ok. I, myself, like "pressure of time". To get more people you could post some announcement before actual contest and post such giveaways on weekends.

well in a way the pressure thing isnt bad on its own and well yeah it sucks not to win by just perhaps by 1 minute (especially when you get nuts after a while with all the blue water pieces and red letters and i just had filled my bath :p), but thats the game.
alhtough with these kind of things and anyone else just randomly posting codes its first come first get. if i saw the post 10 minutes sooner i could have gotten it.
if one was to announce a time when you would post it, then everyone starts at the same time and then there is pressure too and the sucks when you are too late but then everyone had atleast a fair chance, and everyone had known about it.

if you were to stack up and post for example then 2 jigsaw puzzles at the same time you can be sure atleast 2 different people will win since chances are high they arent gonna solve both. might also give people a choice on what game they want to solve (also in case they might have one already)

but afterall its your contest so your rules offcourse.

at first i thought it was an rpg with the health bars lol. never been that familiar with the jagged alliance games.

love the type of contest though
Thanks for the puzzle. I had fun solving this, even knowing that someone already got the prize :)

Fujek:
I think the current method is fine, too. The time pressure is just another element to it.
I don't think anyone can begrudge you for not having a prize after completing the puzzle or cracking the code or whatever it is. Part of the prize is finally figuring it out! :)
Sooooo.... this code is still not redeemed... :P
I love that this thread keeps showing up...

Well, it is a common ability of all arch nemeses.
Just in case some people watch this thread and haven't noticed, I've started a new giveaway with a puzzle here:

Now I'm completely unsure, but I figured I'd give it a try!
Please let me explain why this time things are very different.

I've been playing a MMORPG called Tibia a long, long time ago when it was still enjoyable and special and I had always wondered on one specific 'quest' that might either be a red herring, or real. Me and a few friends tried a couple of different methods but always failed. And I only just remembered this when thinking about a good riddle for this thread!

So, here's the deal:
I can not tell you that this makes ANY sense at all, but if it does, I'm sure one of you can break it! I hand you a large chunk of what can be found on the subject. Should you think that you're on a hot trace and need more, please don't hesitate and I'm going to add the rest. If you manage to translate the text and show me the method you used, you can choose one 3$ promotion game on GOG ;)

Side information:
Beware of the bonelords!
The bonelords are an ancient race of underground dwelling necromancers. Although they can 'speak' like humans using some membranes, their native 'tongue' consists of a blinking code with each eye, where a blinking could mean some syllable, letter or word. It is by far the most complex speech we have ever encountered and it is almost impossible to comprehend. As far as we can tell it is not only a language but also some kind of mathematics. This combination makes it tedious even to try to understand that language.
The books the bonelords write contain only numbers and the code behind them is incredibly complex. This race was one of those which were part in the creation wars and therefore its peak of civilization and power is long gone. There are rumours about still existent bonelord settlements where they try to improve their unspeakable necromantic rituals and create an army of undead.
In general they seem malicious but without any ambition to do more than to claim some lairs and to defend them. They seem to have no ambitions in conquering or allying with other races in a bigger style other than bonelord mercenaries who occasionally join forces with other entities for private reasons.
