Kidding aside, how is it going?

Not too bad. Work is picking up a little and (hopefully) got some investors for a small scale print run of some of my art (both canvasses and a cheap "artbook" in pocketsized magazine format).

That sounds interesting, and of course I wish you well with it.

I'm not artistic at all, though my father was. I can appreciate it, if not modern, but cannot produce it in any manner. My renditions would not look much different today, than when nuns made faces at me over them when I was 9.

What kind of stuff did yer dad do?

He was a part time commercial artist, an engineer, but also a full time accountant to pay the bills for the family.

I always felt kind of bad that when I got contracts with his parent company, that they treated me better than they ever did him. His division wasn't bad to him, he just didn't really get any of the wining/dining/travel opportunities that they gave me, and I was an outsider. Hell, without talking to him and understanding what the company needed/faced, I couldn't have developed the system view that I had.

Totally different area and level from division to corporate, but his knowledge of the bigger picture invariably aided me, and allowed me to feel confident in seeking them out as a potential client.

Just side work through himself. Have no idea of his business interactions, but did go to work with him when he had a contract with a local newspaper. I was a kid and just farted around with people in the building.
