Fenixp: It's sad that they came so late with this, they've picked just the time of kickstarter 'burnout,' when most people have pretty much blown their budget for KS projects.
The one thing that's in this ones favor a bit, is that it's still got 2 weeks after Project Eternity ends. Could get a bump after that one is done..

However, I think that.. yeah, they're not too likely to get to 650K. I could be wrong, I have been before.. I've seen KS that 2 days before looked like they were going to end at like 80% of their funding.. skyrocket to about 150% by the end.
They don't seem to be doing much no raise awareness of this thing. I've seen very little coverage and they've only posten 1 update and made 1 or 2 replies in the comment-field. One thing Revolution did right was GREAT coverage, updates and communication with the fans.

If they don't up their game i don't see this as going through.
Considering I've only just heard of the Kickstarter now by seeing this topic, no, they aren't really promoting it too well.
Going to ask the guys at HD/MWE to come in here and post, maybe promote the project a bit. We gotta do all we can to see this glorious sequel through.

Also, whether you like Reddit or not, upvote it here just so we can get this game out.

Is Nexus better known in Germany than elsewhere? I had gotten the news about it from pcgames.de before posting about it here (and 4players.de picked it up a day later).
Anyway, I suppose it may not be known and/or revered enough for that ambitious $650k goal (or need a more convincing kickstarter pitch). Maybe bigger news coverage will turn things around, though...

I don't know how well known it is in Germany. But none of the Norwegian sites has written a single article about this kickstarter. (not to my knowledge, that is).

I don't understand why they don't do updates and comments.. What are they doing?

+1. At this point they should be doing all they can to get the word out. Every successful KS developer has been doing that.

Even over at RPS, it didn't seem to get a dedicated article. They really are dropping the ball. The thing with a Kickstarter like this, is that when the dev can't even seem to be assed to do it properly, how could they make a great game? Or at least that's how people perceive it and I can't fault them. If I were asking for that much money, I'd be working my ass off to get the money.
Did they launch the KS before they were ready? Because their comments on the KS seemed to indicate that they might have... guess it's showing now.
Just a brainwash, Carmageddon Reincarnation had a 400k goal and in the end the almost got 650k, but it had better coverage and Carmageddon is probably one of the best known (read notorious) games.

Meh, I'm not promoting this anymore, most of the time I'm just being accused for being a spammer anyway.
When it comes to a kickstarter, getting the word out is the first and most important priority. The second most important principle is to be presentable, so that when people take a look, they are not turned off. I think that this project flubbed both aspects, especially when it came to that they didn't have a trailer of the game. The biggest proof of potential success to me is whether or not there is an actual gameplay video, because that tells me that the game isn't vaporware.
Trending towards 60% of their goal, but probably not going to manage even that (donations have been falling steadily); they genuinely seem to have thought that if they just put it up, the money would come streaming in because people loved the original Nexus so much. No need to even put the word out!

Conceivably they could maybe save things with a strong marketing blitz, but they seem content to just sit there and do nothing, so...

Just curious, where did you promote it on?

Mike Horneman replied my PM saying Vincent van Diemen will post ITT soon. Shouldn't be too long before we hear from them, hopefully.

How much does it really cost to put a low level employee to work at spreading the kickstarter link at gaming forums and social media? :P
I'd be a little more excited if I weren't so retarded playing the original back in the day. But that really goes for anything RTS. I remember thinking, "This game would be so awesome if I could play it properly."
