PaterAlf: So you agree that implementation of regional pricing in every store (GOG, Humble, Steam, etc.) is unfair?
As has been mentioned in other threads, the idea of regional pricing is correct, the implementation seldom is. So yes, Regional Pricing is fair, current regional pricing isn't.

realkman666: Not at all. A region can be defined many ways when you're not a dumbo.
I will end the discussion, as I haven't seen a single argument from your side and all you do is name calling instead. I wonder who the dumbo is?
Even though the Germans are being nasty toward me, I'm glad I learned about the situation in Germany. Hopefully, the new laws they're trying to set up will lead to a more modern and fair Germany. Praising the number of jobs when people are being exploited is just disgusting, and I hope the peasants start getting what they're owed.

realkman666: No argument is needed. People make less, they should pay less. End of story.
Games should implement a system where you can show your paycheck stub to get an income sensitive reduced price because kind hearted charity game development studios are.

They don't have to. They can whine about piracy instead. Doesn't change anything for me.

PaterAlf: But they already get regional pricing, which means they have to pay around 30% more than US citizens. So it must be fair from your point of view.

realkman666: They're in Tier 2, they should pay Tier 2 prices. Stop being a phony.
The whole "tier 2" thing has to do with how Valve price their own games and is a name that people created for it, it's not an official pricing tier. On steam & GG at least publishers can set their own prices and create their own regions, so it is theoretically possible that a publisher decides that Estonia gets games for free while people in Latvia need to pay twice the regular €-price. The vast majority of all developers of publishers don't bother with tiers/zones inside the €-zone, and give every country the same price.

They can download them for free if they're not being treated fairly. I thought there were already tiers in place, but I guess Valve is only showing the way. Can they really create their own regions? That's kinda cool.
there is a old saying in my place, fair isnt always mean same value :)
Does anyobody happen to know how many maps there are in The Ship?

Yep, publishers are allowed to set local prices whichever way they want, they just don't bother tailoring their prices within the €-zone. They can also ban games or impose any other restrictions for any country, which, I guess, is why they have so much "local" control to begin with. And downloading for free is not really an option if you are interested in the multiplayer portion of a game, which a lot of people are.

Yeah, I think there is a lot of laziness from publishers, but it must be complicated for some smaller teams to set that up. It's nice to see the option is there. I've heard good things about Steam for poorer regions. I can understand why they like it so much.

It's great for Russia and countries in their price region. Far less so for anyone outside of that. And I don't think I've seen any of the major publishers actually do regional pricing within the € region, it's mainly valve and a small handful of indies that does that.

Cool. EA used to be good to India as well, but they jacked up the prices last year.
