Introducing one of the best installments of the King's Quest series by Roberta Williams, the series which pretty much "made" Sierra On-Line and pioneered the animated point-and-click adventure game genre.
Our pack consists of [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/king%E2%80%99s_quest_4_5_6]Kings Quest 4, 5 and 6. Set in a magical, fantasy world, each installment tells the story of one of the Grahams - the royal family of the Kingdom of Daventry - Princess Rosella, King Graham and Prince Alexander, respectively. They're one of those adventure games filled with abstract puzzles, where even the most useless item, if used creatively, can get you through even the most difficult situation. After all, the obvious way to push the Abominable Snowman off a cliff is to throw pies at it! Just like King Graham once said: "Take anything that isn't nailed down". A good rule of thumb, but what if you could use the loose nails later on?
Great addition to the catalogue!
Shame I can't keep up with all these new games!
I've never been a fan of the King's Quest series, but they are undeniably true classics that belong on GOG. Excellent addition to the catalog :-)
Why no KQ7?
are all of these Voiced? CD versions?
A must-have addition, and I guess that signals the end of the Activision month, so that I may actually purchase all these games.

KQ4 is not. Unsure about KQ5 but I'd assume it is the voiced version. KQ6 is definitely voiced as it wasn't available otherwise.

5 & 6 should be. 4 isn't.

Presumable 1,2, and 3 will be released as their own pack. Comparing with the Steam price which is $19.99 for the whole 1-6 series, seeing 1,2 and 3 released later for $9.99 seems likely.
KQ7 and 8 will probably be standalone releases then, if at all. As far as I know these are not included in the usual King's Quest Collection bundles yet for some reason.

If you can get past Roberta Williams horrible, overrated writing, not to mention the annoying dead ends and sloppy game design then the games aren't too bad.
You need a lot more patience with these games compared to a Lucasarts adventure.

I never had a chance to play it, but it looks interesting.

KQ7 is definitely included. KQ8 is an extremely poor game though (in my opinion, obviously), so that being missing isn't a great loss.

Why not on GoG?

Why not on GoG?

Well it does say only available in the EU, i don't think GOG would release a game unless all it's users could purchase it.
KQ7 has massive issues with 64bit systems I believe, and though GOG goes on Vista/32bit right now that might be something they are working on.
As for this release I will ask the same thing I did for Space Quest: any reason to get this over the retail release I already have? I want to support GOG but I can just buy a game I do not own like Phantasmagoria, but if these are improved somehow I will get them.
hmm not many interest in these last two releases it seems... and to be honest they are nothing special...
