I had a few issues, choppy sound was the most irritating of all. But i think i worked thet one out, and was left with low framerate and some other issues. And i see [by the other Blood thread], that i'm not the only one.;)
Anyhow, if GOG ever gets it's claws on that source code, i'll eat a sock! Oh.. wait.. no, i won't, i've seen how that works already.;P

The only game where you can give someone anal madness. While playing decapitated head soccer at the same time.

The only time I had Blood running like water in its native form without DOSbox emulation (aside from Windows 98 of course) was on Windows XP SP1.
I experienced sound issues and lower framerate when upgrading to SP2 and SP3, then a lot of optimizing had to be done for it to be remotely playable again.

I still remember the monk shouts.

Any information as to whether this version of One Unit Whole Blood is launched in its true native form on Vista and 7 platforms after installation or will DOSbox be packaged with it?

r10k - seems like a lot of those conversions / maps are still working (the five that I downloaded seem to work quite well)
Hopefully this release will increase the Blood multiplayer community again.

Video quality is a bit lacking, but the gameplay is stellar.

I'm literally happy as a pig in shit right now. I was just saying to my girlfriend last night, "if Atari joining GoG means that Blood will get released, I will happy as a pig in shit". And now, just a few hours later, here I sit. Happy as a pig....in shit. This may have been the worst week I've had in a long time (some dude hit my car at 5:30 in the morning on my way to work and took off, cost me $200 just to scratch the surface of repairing it which in turn upset me so badly that I started smoking again, my job dropped me down to 18 hours a week) and yet, right now at this moment, all that bullshit seems far away and distant somehow, because in just 2 days, I get to relive one of the greatest FPS game ever conceived by a human mind.
Now all we need is Shadow Warrior :)

It would be great if GOG could somehow convince Atari to release the source code for Blood. This game would really shine if we could play it with source ports instead of Dosbox. Still, for me this is the best thing we've seen on GOG from Atari so far.

That's one of the ways how I used to relieve stress, just play a game of Doom 2, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, Blood, or Shadow Warrior multiplayer to feel better. :)
Spent hours on end playing these games 1 on 1 via dial-up (minus Quake) using a US Robotics 56k sportster modem just calling people interested in a deathmatch. Looking at the long distance bill every month wasn't pretty, but it was worth the experience and feeling less stressful. :)
These newer first person shooter games just lack that fun factor gameplay these games provided back in circa 1994 - 2000. They're too graphics heavy, not that it's a bad thing, but maybe its time to go back to the roots for a bit.

YES! Out of this whole deal with Atari this is the one game I wanted to see. I will probably be buying a copy for myself and gifting it multiple times.

I was very surprised to see this. And very happy. Some of my best gaming memories are from this game. It was hard, the monks were awesome and to throw dynamite into a group of zombies....oh god, I'll get to do that again. THANK YOU GOG!
