tb87670: Seems the internet sends no notion of sarcasm. I would still rather send my money to an official charity personally than to a game company. That's a middleman in the works.

It goes to this charity.

Donate to them or some other charity directly if you don't want a game and you would prefer the tax writeoff to go to yourself instead of popcap.
Personally, I don't have a lot of money to give away. I do want to help during these kinds of things, but when I donate something small like $20 to a charity like Red Cross (which I did for Hurricane Katrina), they end up spending all that money (and then some) on all of the future letters they send me afterwards trying to get me to donate more money. I'd rather have a middleman than end up with a mailbox stuffed full of letters asking for more money that surely must have cost them more than I originally donated.

Zeewolf: And let's be honest here, if GOG came up with this idea we'd all be loving it.

Hehe, you know what? When I got notified about this action by your post, I was thinking, "How cool it'd be if GOG did something of the like" :D.

The reason PopCap can do it is that it's their own games they are selling. If GOG were to do the same, they'd need a special agreement with each of the publishers.

Wishbone: Okay, PopCap's prices are officially insane. As near as I can tell, ALL their games cost $28. Their store shows me the prices in my local currency, and all of them are 145 dkk, which at the current exchange rate is $28.01. Even a game like Feeding Frenzy which is from 2004, and which costs $6.99 at Reflexive Arcade.
Good luck with that, PopCap.

Funny, the games here are $28... HKD.

Better not tell them that. I just bet it's a case of "Hey, a dollar's a dollar, right?"

Course I won't. I'll be like, "screw you Steam, I've got WAY better prices elsewhere!"
Very bizarre.
