doccarnby: It is awesome. Have you tried it?

StingingVelvet: I tried it with Mass Effect 2 using Gakai, a service like OnLive that is focused on demos for marketing purposes rather than fulll games. It was a great idea but the performance was suspect... I look forward to giving it another go someday.
They are going to need to seriously up their available bandwidth if they are going to attempt to stream anything other than turn based games. Can you imagine trying to play a FPS that was streamed?

Yeah, that's why it wasn't that great at the time. You don't need competitive accuracy for a demo though, just to get the general feel of the game.

There's a video of an e3 demo where they stream Assassin's Creed Brotherhood to an iPad 2 using a wifi game controller (there's an Android Tablet in the background doing the same thing). The suggestion is, don't bother unless you have a steady sub 80 ping to an OnLive server.

Its a great idea, I just hope the tech is available to enough customers to make it a viable business. Certainly its going to rely on local servers, I'll not be able to play game's from Australia, running on an OnLive server in the states for example.

But ISPs could develop the tech like game servers of old, with a revolving catalog of titles to attract clients to their service.
Finished the game. Took me 8 hours. It was really fun for 95% of its run with great fast-paced monster shooting combat. Reminded me a lot of Quake 4 and like a Raven game it's very smooth and polished if not wholly original.

Good and varied environments, cool enemies, a couple huge bosses and solid playing time. The great geomod destruction adds a lot of flavor to the game even if it isn't the focus like it was in Guerrilla. The story is decent with some cool FMV sequences.

All around a solid game I am happy I played and bought.

Yes.
