Vestin: You're assuming we're dealing with a person who can't write but can read ;P. People who could benefit from your explanation would chiefly be ones who would never have thrown such a fit in the first place... or even if they did - they'd immediately understand the reaction afterwards.
I choose to assume that even fair-minded, intelligent, mature people can nevertheless have the kind of "off day" where an unexpected bad experience can result in a childish tantrum. I'm not saying that's the case here, but I choose to give the OP the benefit of the doubt until further evidence presents itself.

I would like more people to experience the joys of GOG, and I would like GOG to experience the joys of more customers, so if a first bad impression of the service (which seems to be what the OP experienced, although he provided no details whatsoever) can be turned into a good lasting impression, I think it's worth a try.

Wishbone: I feel at this point that maybe I should offer a bit of explanation on behalf of the GOG community, just so you don't get the wrong idea. No, this is not the reaction most new members receive. No, this forum is not populated exclusively by aggressive and hostile elitist pricks. No, not even any of the people who have posted in this thread are usually this flippant to anyone.

The problem here is that you chose, as your very first post, to ask a stupid question (I'm sorry, but it was) in a very aggressive manner, without giving any information whatsoever about what your real problem is. The text of your post was also not related in any way to your thread title. Basically, you made it impossible for anyone to help you with the actual grievance you had. This community is the most helpful I've ever seen, but when people just insist on having a problem and bitching about it, with no interest in actually doing anything about it, this does not go over well here.

Maybe if you tried to calm down and tell us what the problem you are having actually is, people could give you some more constructive replies than you've received so far. GOG.com is a great distributor and truly cares about its customers, and the GOG community is generally the most helpful, generous and well-behaved I've ever seen. If you ask for help here, you will usually get it, but you do need to tell people your problem in order for that to happen.
THAT'S THE FUCKING TRUTH !

Licurg: That doesn't make sense...
everything as normal, then.
