The definitive virtual military experience.

Arma 2: Combined Operations, the ultimate mod-enabled first person perspective military simulation, bundled with the Operation Arrowhead expansion, is now available for 20% off on GOG.com! That's $23.99 in the release week.

HA-TTENTION recruits! Uncle Sam must be a man of great faith, because he believes that US Army can craft a pile of stinking, dirty clay into a squad of Marines that can be trusted with shooting commies and defending democracy. In fact he put me in charge of performing that small miracle. So you think you know something about modern combat, because you answered some call about duty? Or maybe you got yourself a medal for what passes as honor in those smelly backwoods you call home!? You think you know how to handle your M16s and drive your hummvees because you've done it before IN A GAME?! Well, this is no ordinary game, maggots! This is the United States Marine Corps! This is is Arma 2!

From the creators of Operation Flashpoint comes Arma 2: Combined Ops, the ultimate military simulation. The unmatched level of realism in recreating weapons, equipment, vehicles, and battlefield conditions paired with the incredible scale and detail of the virtual war theater create a gritty, believable US Marine experience. Huge single-player campaigns, massive online multiplayer, mods, and a flexible built-in mission editor guarantee weeks of captivating play. The Combined Ops edition contains the original Arma 2 game and the Operation Arrowhead expansion required to run the game's most popular modification. You know: DayZ. The one with the zombies.

Prove that you have what it takes to leave behind your casual shooters and become a US Marine in Arma 2: Combined Ops for a special price of $23.99 until Tuesday, August 28 at 10:59 AM GMT.!
So if I was looking to actually play an ARMA game, and not DayZ, which is the preferred game?

grviper: Damn... something I've got off GG DRM-free at 75% or 80% discount, before the DayZ craze. Oh well, another release slot wasted.
According to GamersGate, both Arma 2 and the Operation Arrowhead pack that the GOG release comes with still have Securom.

It's actually quite a good release, especially as GG is currently selling the base game and the Operation Arrowhead expansion pack for $19.95 each. To get both for $23 and change on GOG, DRM-free is a nice release, IMO.

Not something I'll be buying at the moment as my backlog is beyond stupid -- but it's definitely going on my Wish List.

Thanks GOG!
FPS promo and now FPS release. It's not my time but it's good that other got what they wanted!
... it is what it is. I'm sure it will make some people happy.

Just to be clear, nothing except this is required in order to play DayZ? :P
Well this is great but shame you're late GOG! Would definitely have bought it here instead of on Steam. Anyhoo, if you don't own this yet, grab it and get some DayZ going. It's great!

Which reminds me, I really need to log some time at night. I found a FN FAL with night vision. Will hike back to the city and engage in some midnight blood shedding.

Clear. Except of course, the executable for the mod which you can find on dayzmod.com
You would also like to get something called DayZ Commander. It acts as a functional server browser and also keeps your DayZ and Arma versions up to date.

Both are, of course, free.

SimonG: The wishlist item is still wip and the codemasters guys said this was necessary before ARMA II could be released.
Codemasters? They haven't had anything to do with Bohemia Interactive since the dispute 3-4 years ago. ArmA is entirely Bohemia's baby.

Wishlisted!!
Great game, but too expensive for me. Highly demanding on PC specs too...

Welcome addition to the catalogue.

Oops, my bad. Of course Bohemia, not Codemasters.

After reading GG profiles it never hurts to check the official website for updates and see that DRM was patched out back in 1.05.
Now THIS is what I'm talking about! We're in Business now Baby!

Great release, hope to see more AAA new releases on GOG in the future
Wow, that´s a new game! :O I´ve been interested in it, maybe I´ll buy it later.

Still doesn't matter. I'd buy it on GOG before I'd buy it on GamersGate.
another skip, these release of late have just not been my cup of tea. Not complaining, because good games but not my thing. I just wish the release would go back to the beginning (for me) because it was instabuy after instabuy. In second thought this is better for my wallet. Keep them coming gog ;)
