The definitive virtual military experience.

Arma 2: Combined Operations, the ultimate mod-enabled first person perspective military simulation, bundled with the Operation Arrowhead expansion, is now available for 20% off on GOG.com! That's $23.99 in the release week.

HA-TTENTION recruits! Uncle Sam must be a man of great faith, because he believes that US Army can craft a pile of stinking, dirty clay into a squad of Marines that can be trusted with shooting commies and defending democracy. In fact he put me in charge of performing that small miracle. So you think you know something about modern combat, because you answered some call about duty? Or maybe you got yourself a medal for what passes as honor in those smelly backwoods you call home!? You think you know how to handle your M16s and drive your hummvees because you've done it before IN A GAME?! Well, this is no ordinary game, maggots! This is the United States Marine Corps! This is is Arma 2!

From the creators of Operation Flashpoint comes Arma 2: Combined Ops, the ultimate military simulation. The unmatched level of realism in recreating weapons, equipment, vehicles, and battlefield conditions paired with the incredible scale and detail of the virtual war theater create a gritty, believable US Marine experience. Huge single-player campaigns, massive online multiplayer, mods, and a flexible built-in mission editor guarantee weeks of captivating play. The Combined Ops edition contains the original Arma 2 game and the Operation Arrowhead expansion required to run the game's most popular modification. You know: DayZ. The one with the zombies.

Prove that you have what it takes to leave behind your casual shooters and become a US Marine in Arma 2: Combined Ops for a special price of $23.99 until Tuesday, August 28 at 10:59 AM GMT.!
So that's another series finished, at least for now. :)

Same for Ultima IX. IF it's released on Thursday.

Well this is interesting. Hope that means Day Z will come out here also.

Also, another title I'm glad I didn't buy on steam this past summer now.

darthspudius: Oh joy, here comes the Emo's and their zombie mod...
Huh? Since when have emos been crazy about zombies? I thought it was all vampires, witches, and incubi/succubi with them?

Fred_DM: i can understand the preference for GOG over GG (to an extent), but then you can't bring up the DRM argument.
I really haven't used GamersGate (although I've visited the site once or twice and browsed); objectively-speaking (and in this case nevermind a sale price, I guess), where would one be better off purchasing? GOG has some decent bonus goodies, probably a little community help if this get messed up ... how would this compare to GG?

Also not all vampires. I love Vampire The Masquerade, but not the sparkle vampires like twilight :P
Huh? There are people who don't like Day Z? Up to this day I've heard nothing but good things about it. Granted, I've never played the mod or the game myself.
So DRM is gone? No FADE, no Securom?
Nice release GoG!
Time to finally buy this! Perfect timing GoG!
Nice Release! I always prefer to buy from here and again i'm glad I held out through the Steam sale.

Securom was officially patched out of ArmA 2 in late 2009. Operation Arrowhead lost Securom a year later.

Nightfall87: Just to be clear, nothing except this is required in order to play DayZ? :P
Well, obviously, you need the DayZ mod.... But yes, this is the base Arma II package you are looking for.

Not paying 25$ to play day z, as I have no interest in the arma game whatsoever, as it's been announced as a standalone. Besides, I don't even know what that mod is worth.

Sabin_Stargem: I got a question: Does this release include the DLC packs?
I would like to know the same thing. And if they are not included, how can I buy them when I use the GOG copy?

Regarding single player: I played the ARMA 2 (base game) campaign as far as my computer permitted ¹ and I liked it. Very much recommended if you have a fast CPU.

¹ An AMD dual core with 2.4 GHz is too slow for the last two missions, the AI scripts are not executed fast enough even though the frame rate is high enough.
Ooh, slick!
