RadonGOG: Hmmm, everybody round here seems to already know that this game is fantastic---but I´ve never heard of it!
Most haven't heard of it, that's mostly because it was made to be an "exclusive" (well not really it was on Mac too) for a new console in the 90's called the Apple Pippin, Apple and Namco Bandai's console. After that console crashed and burned spectacularly the game was "lost" for Windows gamers, because it was coded in hierarchical file format (something old Macs did) so even extracting the files on a non-Mac computer was difficult, and running it impossible. So it fell into obscurity mostly by being tied up with the fate of a failed console (Pegasus Prime was originally published by Bandai too). It's only the last year or more that the ScummVM people and Presto began work to port it.

The game itself is essentially a remake of JP1 in higher-resolution graphics and FMV.

Shadowcat: Uh, it's never looked like GOG has given up on the old games.

This reminds me of those dogs who see their owners go off to work each morning, and assume they're never coming back. Every day.
I'm just observing the facts :) Every month at least one person (usually more) will complain that GOG has "Stopped caring about old games!" It was a point often raised in the DLC and regional pricing panics.
While I've never been that guy it has been a while since a classic turned up here (I don't count Risen as a classic. Only Pre-Half-Life 2 games) So even I was getting cornered. Time was there'd be two classic games per-week. It might not be practical want that back (Unreleased classics are only getting rarer) but doesn't make it any less desirable.
Finally, took a looooooooong time for this one to pop up.
Now that the series is complete (I think) I'll definitely pick it up during a sale sometime.. when I have money.
This game coming now makes me really wonder where Daedalus Encounter is.
Well, Linux version of ScummVM (compiled from latest git) can't find the game in its folder.
But it runs flawlessly in WINE.
I love it so far (never played original though).

According to MobyGames, it was a Windows 3.1 game :(
This is a wonderful release! Kudos to Presto and GOG for reviving this game. I've never played this version before and am excited to try it out. This is why I love this service.

I do hope that GOG will release Journeyman Project Turbo, however, as this was the version I originally played. One of the things I cherish about GOG is releasing the original game alongside the upgraded versions. Please make it so, GOG. :)

We haven't given up on old games :) Just remember there are a lot of hurdles to cross to get an older game here. Some of them are technical or legal in nature.

The legal part, surprisingly enough, has been shown to be the easiest part* (see System Shock 2, for example) whereas the technical part can prove to be insurmountable to the point of impossibility (see an Windows 3.x game ever working on a modern system without a licensed OS being used).

*sometimes.

Also, neither you or I know what's in that ebay link or whether the seller is honest. I don't know but I think I can trust MobyGames more :)

There's a fan-made utility out there for running it on XP/Vista, never tried it

I have Daedalus Encounter, and it does not let me install it, much less run it, at all in Windows 8, no matter what compatibility settings I use. :(
I've never even heard of this. I need to get out more.
